This is one of the most beautiful and well sung versions I've ever heard of this sung. Not overly done, nailing the high notes, and adding a dimension of passion and vulnerability to the emotionality of the song. Add to this the fact that David is not a native or even fluent Spanish speaker yet sings the song perfectly further adds a notch of excellence to his performance. Bravo David.. Well done. I look forward to when you record a full album in Spanish.
bgarc114, I think the breathing makes the performance more organic and "in the moment". It also makes David appear more real and more connected to the listener. It allows you to feel him as well as the song.

You can hear David's breathing because he had vocal paralysis. He trained and worked hard to sing again and to be able sing lots of songs in a row but one vocal cord is still partially paralyzed and underdeveloped. So his breathing is more audible than most people's. The same vocal cord adds a gorgeous texture to his voice. Amazing he got his voice back. His breathing reminds me of how much he wanted to sing.
