Thanks for your time and effort, great help to me getting started with MQTT.
Thank you so much for this video!!! I have been struggling for a few hours, thinking that the Broker* line from MQTT had to match the host line from MQTT Explorer. I'm up & running now 😅
thanks, usefull having a full step by step, it shows i didn't set up the user properly on my install
Any thoughts on Zapier , IFTTT or Make Integromat? They seem easy to use, but are closed-source.
In terms of open source, how did you choose Home Assistant among the alternative.. Huggin, Node Red , n8n , etc?
I have a simple ESP32 program that uses websockets for sending/receiving data.. but it seems for home automation, MQTT is the standard/default?
Although I did see an application ( emqx\MQTTX ) that is similar to MQTT Explorer/ZapIt/MQTTBox/MQTTRoute/MQTT Tiles, but supports WebSockets!
Thanks, i have followed your tut, but my rtl433next_MQTT throws unauthorised on Mosquito. I have created the same user as you shown: 2024-12-09 23:27:56: Client rtl_433-78cfffff7453 disconnected, not authorised.
2024-12-09 23:27:56: New connection from 172.30.32.1:34596 on port 1883.
Has something gone wrong if I can't see MQTT "discovered" in the integration page?
Thank you, useful video.
Not sure this is valid at this point as I don't see 'Add-Ons' Unger settings?
How are you running Home Assistant?
“Add-Ons” only appears if one has Home Assistant OS installed - I have Home Assistant installed via a docker container and do have have the “Add-Ons” option
Could you try talking even faster next time so we’ll have even less chance of following along with our system. Thanks.
