I know this video was made 3 years ago but we just watched it :| and had inspired us. Now, my husband and I are building it!! It’s coming together so beautifully, thank you!
Hello ladies! I just want to say you two are awesome! I love you two! Thank you for making these videos. Your enthusiasm and your skills are incredible. You give me the confidence to build. Keep up the awesome work! You are so inspiring!
You guys are amazing. My wife and I have had so much fun watching your videos. We will try this project for our patio. Let's see how it turns out. Thanks for teaching and the funny way that you guys do it.
Thanks Ladies..I'm a grown ass man....and watching you 2 work Carpentry....got me inspired to get some DIY projects done..God Bless You 2.
Showemright YTchannel thank you 😀
Whitney! I love you guys! You are just like I was a few months ago (little guy is 3 months now) but I was SOOOO prego brain when I was building. I built him a side-car co sleeper bed at 38 weeks pregnant and If I had to talk my way through a video I would have strangled myself. GOOD JOB girls I love your work! Keep it up and Ash don't forget to give her a break for a bit with that baby. God bless!
Thank you for your sweet words Jennifer!! :-)
Crazy to know that no with lumber prices this table will cost over $160. 2x4's in my area are about $9.50 a piece. Hope things go back to the way they were so you girls can bring back these types of video because they are affordable and achievable for anyone
I really enjoy your videos! but I wanted to comment to make sure it's known that I thoroughly enjoyed the outtake clips built in! It makes the videos a lot more amusing and enjoyable to watch through.
JD Fields thanks for the feedback! We always appreciate knowing what y'all like to see. Thanks again!👍🏻
So, I adjusted this to make a narrower, bar-style table for next to my hot tub, and it really was just a few hours of work. Thank you, ladies!
Next video should be benches for this table ! Awesome build !
I was thinking the same thing, but I am sure you can use the same concept for benches!
@@teocal51022I am building this table for a client. The benches are going to look just like the table base, just a little smaller.,
Great build and fun to watch. Just for FYI... the wood will expand/retract and the screws will keep it together. What will happen when the wood cracks because of no room to move?
That happened on one of the tables I built for someone.- Probably leave a little room between boards to allow for water to roll off
I am in need of a similar design, but square for 8. With a lazy Susan in the center. And benches. Please building goddesses .The must prepare for thanksgiving. Oh and a simple buffet stands mating bottoms would be wonderful.
Perfect project and at the perfect time. We need an outside table and this one looks easy to do and it is fantastic looking. Yay!
Adorable. Hope you two are well...
@S2c ladies. love this build. yall pretty much responsible for my new DIY hobby. Love your stuff, a big fan in San Antonio...
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful your table... congratulations!!
Well, impressive looking table. Now you can say to your child "I built furniture while I carried you"! No excuses, great job.
Love the simple design. I'm thinking about a table for 10. My top probably needs to be 42 x 96. Do you think the trestle needs to be modified for that size? I would like to seat 2 people on the short ends of the table.
It looks like you could use 4 x 4's for the legs just to give it a "beefier" look.
Also, do you think you could attach the top using dowels glued only into the support boards so that the top could be removed and replaced for easier moving? Or should the glued dowels go on the tabletop side?
What degree cut do you use for the angled pieces?
Would love to see a video tutorial for an x style trestle farm table. Also would love a video tutorial on a king size bed. I saw your plans for the king size bed on your website but wondering if there is a video tutorial on it?
love your show! you both girls are funny ,smart, beautiful and talented!
The table looks absolutely amazing!! You guys are always so much fun to watch!! ❤️😊
TexasMagnoliaHome thank you!!
Shanty2Chic You're very welcome!! Hope your pregnancy is going well and we are waiting to see that precious baby any day now! 😊
$60 before this inflation 😂. I love it though. Thinking about going to get some wood and build one. Few years back built some patio chairs and EVERYONE keeps asking me where I bought them, then I tell them I built them, and then they ask me to build them a set 😂. But I seriously do want to give this table a go. I have an empty spot on our patio that needs something.
just finished this project thanks for the inspiration made it a little bigger 88 x 40
Awesome. This wins for my new patio table
You guys are great- keep up the good work- big fans
Great design. It works. I made it using pressure treated wood. Its the first time ever that I've handled a circular saw. What angle do you cut the diagonal pieces? Its certainly not 45. Looks more like 30. Or how do you work out the angle?
Another job well done ladies!
So god damn CLEVER!!!! Awesome job girls! 👍🏻💪🏻💕💕💕
I am building this now. I had the HARDEST time getting the feet on! So annoying. Maybe because it was kiln dried. Even with pilot holes, they screws went wonky. LOL But it's coming along!
love how easy and beautiful this is!
Excellent work Ladies!!!!!!!
Hi! Just found this video at the exact right time. My glass top table shattered today. My question is, could that vertical center brace be eliminated so that one could drill holes to accommodate a patio umbrella?
This design looks easier than the farmhouse table you built for indoors
Hi girls, I love this table even more than the other one you made, however I am in need of an OVAL table, there are literally almost 0 DYI's videos on this table shape. They are so trendy and save lots of space when you have a banquet space in your kitchen. It's important to have plenty leg space that is why a 1 center base stand piece will be GREAT! or perhaps two base stand pieces so the edges are free and open. I know it could be a big Challenge but I know you can do it!! Thank you!! Ray.
Love the table and really enjoyed your video
Thank you for this!! So excited to make this for my porch!
Thank you for your videos.. I wish I could do some of the projects I see you two do.. I need to find a place or class were I can learn how to do your projects 😂thanks again
Rosa Coria... Hi there!
The best class is right here on RUclips! Watch, study, & learn how to do lots of fun things for free!!
As far as space to work, if you can, start with something small & go from there!
Best of luck, and have fun!
WILL BE MAKING THIS EVERY SOON THANK YOU
Did you ever do A kettle bbq bench that would be cool
Excellent! Thank you very much :)
What kind of DURABLE and LONG TERM varnish/lacquer/paint/stain/etc would you recommend? I wouldn't want this thing to splinter.
Hey guys. Love your channel and everything you build. I have built many projects using your plans and inspo.
Just a question about the Spax screws on the feet - could you not use pocket hole screws for the 90 degree joins instead?
Neil Graham thank you! You could but you will need to fill the pocket holes. We did spax to avoid that. Hope this helps!!
great job ladies, are you making the benches next?
Andrew McQuillen thank you! We hadn't planned on it but we are getting requests 🤔
i'd like to make some benches to add to this table. do you have plans for them?
Don't let the folks at Ryobi see you use a Rigid miter saw at 5:05. haha!
Owned by the same company :-)
Did you guys use water or oil based seal? Very nice table!
nicely done.
Nice job.
Is it holding up?
This is a beautiful table. How tall is it?
Would love to see these same plans but for a bar top height table.
It looks amazing as an outdoor table, but just curious, could you use it as an indoor dining table? I'm in love with it It's exactly what I've been looking for as an inside table...
girlygirl7705 I made this for my dining room it looks amazing
Chrissy Jansen Is it countertop height or just a regular table height!
2:09 For noobs like myself, I would strongly recommend not putting your fingers on the seems before screwing them in. Worst case scenario, you could rip a chunk of flesh from your digits. Proactive injury prevention is always best in these scenarios. By the way, great work on that table! For the amount of time and money spent, it looks amazing and even sturdy enough for a whole family to sit on top to eat on! :D
why would you use normal wood for this it wont last outside and requires so much maintenance
I was wondering the same thing, but am no expert. Could they have used treated wood? It would make it so heavy though.
I seriously appreciate all of your videos. Thank you guys. Keep up the great work.
Love yalls videos. Y’all keep em coming!
Awesome table!!!, are there going to be more outdors projects?
Eber Gardea yes! We have a swing coming and we just shared the outdoor Planter last week :)
Nice looking table and good project!
Any concerns with wood movement by trapping the breadboards and and the base to top with screws?
Matt Van Dyke great question!! Short answer, YES! They are going to have massive issues. Within the next few weeks I will have a series of videos that covers EVERYTHING you need to know when it comes to building a table.
No disrespect to these girls for making the video and no disrespect to you, they are / you are not an idiot, just going to make an idiots mistake.

Beautiful build! One question do you remember the angel you used for the diagonal pieces? :)
ItsSimplyCarmen thank you! I like to hold the piece up in place and mark for the angle cut. Then I slide my saw blade to cut on the mark! Hope this helps!
great work!
Great table! I noticed the 2x4s weren't run through a planer like you usually do. Being an outside table, any regret in leaving them like you did?
Not with this one! It's certainly still an option, but we wanted to keep this a simple build, and the overall look is still perfect for outdoor. Thanks for asking!
Great table!
I don't see the measurements for the board at an angle, I'm I missing it? Going to make this table tomorrow, help!!
Great table girls very nice
Hello, is the jig for the pocket holes necessary? Can we drill them in normally like all of the others?
LOVE IT SISTERS!!!
What color stain is that??
I like it a lot!! It seems like that y’all use the same Color stain what color is it?
Briarsmoke by Varathane!
Adriana Ariza-Jones Thank you 🙏
Maybe it's just me but when I went to the Spax section at HD it was over whelming with choices. I walked away with nothing because I had no idea which ones to buy. Is there an easy way to "decode" all those selections?
Sawdust and Perfume understand! We like the gold star head interior screws! From there just get the length you need :)
I couldn't find any straight 2x4's, so I'm thinking of 5/4 Deck Boards. Do you think they would look OK?
You can use deck boards but the rounded edges will need to be trimmed. Which is what you should do with the 2x4s any way. Honestly this is a cheap way to build a table but by no means is this the right way. This is a good from a far but far from good situation.
Love this table! I see that your table is under a roof. I want to make this table and will seal it but will it still hold up in the elements....I don’t have a covered porch outside?
meandlulabelle I’ll answer 2 years later... buy pressure treated wood and you’ll be golden
I love this I don’t know of any females who are so good at diy so much better then most of my friends at it and me 😅
Oh I forgot to ask. Did you do matching benches?
Hello!
Are you using extra dried lumber or just standard lumber for building house?. Thinking on the risk for warping and rwisting when drying.
By the way, Great work
Regards Jerker
I think this would look KILLER inside too!
This table waterproof , what kind color for water proof
Hi there, this table is awesome , it looks realy realy great! I have one question... what is the standard length of the 2x4's? Sorry but i dont know much about wood crafting and here in Belgium there are many different lenghts ... 😊
Ben Canters 8 feet
Hii I really enjoy your channel ☺ Keep it up!
Keep up with the good work
Hei I really enjoy your channel ☺ Keep it up!
Shouldn't outdoor tables be built with treated lumber?
Breadboard ends with pocket holes.... shiver.
Hey Shanty2chic! I am very new to building and know absolutely nothing about tools. How can I get started as a newbie?
MsQueenOfHearts2 hey there! Pick a small craft project from our site! We have a lot of projects that only require a couple of tools and most of our projects are geared towards beginner builds - even some of our larger pieces like tables 😀
how are those ryobi tools holding up? do you by any chance have the ryobi jigsaw(corded)? how's it holding to the line?
Love this table...thx !
Did you use weather treated wood and did you seal it after your stain?
Sharae Robinson we used an outdoor poly to protect it :) Spar Varnish by Varathane
Any issues with not using pressure treat after a year?
who cn dislike there vid...i mean come on...hw cute is she with her baby bum
Thank you
Hei great page ☺ Keep it up!
Where do you get those stain spongey things? Those look like they make quick work of staining large projects.
Alice MacKay it's a lambswool applicator and is available at big box stores. check out their "how to stain wood" video too.
Cool, thanks!
Paper towels, so long as they are good ones, work pretty great too. Or a piece of an old tshirt.
This was perfect as a vanity desk for me. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxMAlHv7-BBWMrPRm5-uEoD6rtdT7SG2Qr Especially the glossy finish. Easy to cleanI was looking for something that wasn't the traditional white and with more of a modern feel. This fit the bill beautifully. I put it together with no problems, by myself in under an hour.Make sure you double check where you place the drawer tracks before screwing down. I had one track that needed to be aligned with different holes than the rest.
Hey sweet channel ☺ Keep it up!
what if we dont have the equipment to make pocket holes? whats an alternative?
You don't have to get the K5 like they have. I found one for $20 (called the Mini or Jr or something like that). You just have to clamp it to your boards, but it works great!
I live in a very humid area. Will there be any issues with the wood warping being screwed together tightly on the top?
Use an outdoor polyurethane to seal it. They used Spar Varnish by Varathane. Great product, I used to seal my pub top table on our patio.
Woman power! Great video. Best regards MrHandwerk
What brand of stain did you use
Briarsmoke by Varathane!
What angle did we cut the 4 running boards
Hi ladies, one of the measurements on the plans do not make sense to me. It’s the breadboards’s cut measurement- when you lay down 10 of the 2 by 4’s it becomes 40 , on the plans it has 35. I would like to build the table and I might have the boards precut at the store so that they can fit in my car. I love the step by step guide and I am a beginner, so I hope it turns out well. I will add some extra length so that I can cut it at home after I lay them together but the 35 doesn’t make sense to me, please elaborate.
Niki Bahanova hey there! The lumber that we build with (and what you are purchasing from the hardware store) is dimensional lumber. A 1x4 is not actually 4” wide it is 3.5” wide. All of the boards are less wide than they are called but the best way to get a perfect fit is to attach all of the planks and then measure an exact cut for your breadboard. Hope this helps and good luck 😀
Shanty2Chic, thank you so much for your reply! I am so excited to make it happen! Looking forward to making other of your projects!
2x4's are actually 3.5 inches, hence 2x4's (10) 35" wide
Praise the Lord..I get overwhelmed picking out things as well..Thanks for asking and getting an answer to this question..This will be my first build!!
do you have the plans for the benches to match?
Do u have plans for a bench to match?
How can i get the measurements fot the bottom part?
Boom! Done! Ya'll are ah-maz-ing! :)))
Ladies, did you use anything to protect the table from the weather?
What can be use to protect it?
They used an outdoor stain sealer, possibly a deck stain.
Will wood movement be impacted upon when screwing on the bread board end? I hear conflicting things
It will. Screwing together boards like this isn't the best way, especially for an outdoor table. This table, as it's built, won't last too many seasons outdoors, depending on climate. The best way is to edge-joint the boards and glue them, but that requires more tools and wouldn't be as easy to grasp for people new to building things. But if this video inspires someone to get out in their garage and build something, then that's a good thing.
What is meant by edge joint? I want to build and 10 foot table and need it to last a lifetime outdoors.
