Do you know the size of the bolts for the oil pan ? I had someone replace my cracked oil pan and the loser never put 2of the bolts back on . Can you please help me
Also, oil fills the oil filter and stays there after circlating when the engine is turned off. Checking a second time after allowing it to flow into the filter assures you have filled the oil to capacity.
You should never change oil when your car/truck is hot. As if it was driven for 30 minutes and then you shut car off and change oil. You should wait till it cools down before taken oil out. This is to not only important to avoid being burnt by the oil pan/ oil , but it's important for the condition of the engine. Especially if you add new cold oil to a very hot motor, can warp/weaken the gaskets inside the motor or oil pan.

Just for knowledge. Why did you pour oil in the oil filter?
They say it’s to prime it
Why start the engine to check the level of oil ???? You cant check the proper level when the engine is running
True that
To allow the oil to circulate it actually is more accurate 👌
