One other thing I thought I would point out is that your video doesn't. While blade fury can be a very powerful focus option in a build. It's also a nice supplemental ability for any melee-based assasin whether you are a kicksin or some variant of the martial art assassin. Since blade fury does 3/4 weapon damage it can offer you a ranged attack to launch at things across a river or if you don't want to get in melee with one of the nastier bosses' ability combinations that spawn. It's a nice one-point wonder if you have an extra couple of skill points to invest .
Unless they fixed it in D2R (I don't see any notes on it and mostly play D2 LoD so I haven't tested it), Blade Fury does not get increased attack rating from Claw Mastery. It only gets the bonus damage and crit chance. Still an amazing 20 point investment, though because the +% damage and crit apply to Blade Fury's base damage and claws get 0.75% enhanced damage from strength and dexterity (which also applies to Blade Fury's base damage). Blade Fury is very attack-rating hungry, so it's actually a good idea to invest some points into dex, much like a bowazon.
Blade Fury's definitely my favorite build, it's the only build that I've completed Hell mode with in singleplayer twice. The types of stats that work well with Blade Fury is very unique and makes you look for items you normally wouldn't.
The convenience of your skill videos are top notch sir!
The attack rating issue got addressed in a big way when 2.4 went live (+10% AR per level)
Yes it did
Love the way you explain deeply the D2R habilities, have learned a lote about theme
Glad to be of service =}
This video on Blade Fury is looking "sharp". Well done.
Seriously, I did NOT know about the lack of Weapon Speed mod on this! It was something that I thought was just a bug on my Assassin! (To be fair, I am a casual player, and usually play Skelemancers, Fire Sorcs or Sword Barbs.)
Har har,
Blade Fury is certainly an interesting ability, the restrictions make for some very fun builds with it
@@GGMentor Agreed!
Yes, Diablo 2 is a puzzle game and you need to adjust the pieces that work for you.
Yes, Blade fury has issues with Attack rating. I made blade fury Assassin yesterday and here is how I overcame the problem.
1. THERE IS A BLESSED AIM MERC in this game.... for a reason.
2. 2 Raven frosts to boost DEX and Attack rating.
3. Metal grid amu - lost all skills but won 400 +AR, All res, and Iron golem
4. Demon lImb gives 21 lvl enchant - i enchant myself in the beginning of the game.
Very underrated for a whirlwind asn if u don't wanna get close to your enemies
Fury on a high damage claw is enough imo since this skill applies alot of debuffs too 😂
Off weapon ed makes a huge difference on a blade sin, fortitude, and a might merc with pride, will boost you hugely, because the damage from the bf skill works kinda like +min max charms.
You can easily get a bfsin doing 10-15k max damage.
Pheonix shield used to be shitty for her because of the firestorm interruptions but that's fixed now, making it the bis shield.
Eth fleshripper, lacerator are excellent weapons on a bladesin, but I'm with you,a death ettin axe is also my favorite.
I've leveled a bladesin to 20,and put her on ice until 2.4 drops,I'm extremely excited to play her in updated form.
Yeah me too mine is basically waiting for 2.4 I even. Have an eth fangripper
What do you think of this base i found on ladder 2.5 : eth feral claw +3 LS +3 SW. Any chance i could make a good weap for BF if i decide not to use BS nor WB ?
Very well explained videos. If my English was better I would understand everything completely. But it will 😅
As a kid, my highest level character was a blade fury assassin. Well, that was the skill I used most, but I put a point in every skill so blade fury itself couldn't have had more than 5 points in it. Her weapon was a yellow bow I tried to make zephyr in. I have no idea how I got to level 50 with that.
Hah
Thanks for the tips, I always loved the blade fury assa but never built one that worked properly.
Just on a side note - I noticed that you made a dangerous monsters video, with information on the bone fetish. Are you planning on continuing that series too? That would be super cool!
I did have a video in the works on the vipers but they fixed them completely lol
legit rewatching. thx g. i hope you can continue this series when season 2 slows down
Zodded eth Fleshripper is awesome. Weird class but very fun.
I enjoy your videos. They have helped improve my D2R game and point out how terrible I was at Diablo 2. Can you make a video that discusses assassin dual claws and the claw that should be in the main attacking hand? Does it matter if you use a weaker claw in the left hand vs the right?
Eventually 🤣 yes
I found a ethereal unique claw and now I know what I can do with it 😊
This was so helpful, thank you.
I forgot what weapon I used. Was one with ignore target defense.
Might have had a slow on it. Dunno why I think I recall everything being slowed down.
ITD helps but there are lots of monsters it doesn't work on
Fleshripper?
@@jonathanniehaus8358 death and fleshripper are two of the best weapons
nice build
I have my enchant sorc with this build, works great
GGM this series are awesome 😎
That's what I like to hear
Great Video! Lots of questions here. Have you tried using a blessed aim act 2 merc for AR? The new act 3 fire merc/demon limb enables the casting of "enchant" which can give quite a hefty AR boost - have you tried those? Does this damage get amplified by concentration aura? If you use the new mist runeword that has "100% pierce" - would that work with this skill?
For your first question, he's using blessed aim merc in the video so yes
#1 Pierce doesn't work with blade fury.
#2 AR bonus from enchant and blessed aim for work.
The issue is there is very little AR to work with.
1000% of 100 isn't as much as 500% of 4000.
#3 Yes might, concentration, fanaticism, all have damage bonuses and they can effect blade fury as off weapon Ed.
@@GGMentor Thanks! Looks like this build needs the angelics combo to work :(
Should you edit/update this?
Great vid as usual 👍
I thought about it but not much changed except the synergy bonus damage
Might have try this build. Never played a assassin. But would saving the cloak of shadows skills points and get a blessed aim merc or a inner sight merc help with the AR issue? Also would using the shadow killer be useful?
Yes they all help, as does cloak of shadows, itd, negative monster defense and other such effects
Dude I never watched you before and was enjoying the easy listening...then spotted an animal crawling on you, and laughed. At first I thought it was a ponytail that went over your shoulder. I'm still guffawing loudly. Chinchilla perhaps?
Yes a chinchilla, his name is Mr Nimoy he is often sleeping in my shirt
Whats the best rune/jewel to put in a unique weapon for a bladesin (using fleshripper).
40% enhanced Damage jewel with something else nice like +min +max or +resistances
You could also do an ohm
When I heard about the 10% to AR , I thought it was per level of blade fury 😂. How much could only 10% possibly do to help the skill, what were they thinking?
A token gesture 🙌
Unless it's been fixed recently, claw mastery ar DOESNT benefit blade fury
So would then an aura like concentration pair well with blade furry?
Yes, off weapon ED is one of the very few ways to boost the damage of blade fury
Demon limb for your AR problem. I've found it to be a ez switch solve. I know having a CTA on switch is needed. Yet, demon limb to start your buff cycle will last for a long while.
Demon limb will help a little, main issue is basically no raw ar
17:01 Check That Durability Right Quick.... Lol I See You Bro
Hi although you receive the visual stats from claw mastery, only the bonus damage and critical strike apply. The bonus attack rating although displays a increase does not work. I really hope they change this in 2.4 as well as give a base more then 10% but this has been the case for many years. Also min max damage charms do not work as + to physical damage you do not benefit from like grief. % increased damage however does work like fortitude armor or jewels. + elemental damage charms and Jewels does work.
Min max damage charms work, but ate subject to the 75% reduction.
Min max charms do work, grief is not the same as min max charms.
Grief does not work.
This something people still don't understand. Grief has a unique damage modifier that is separate from all other damage modifiers and is calculated weird as crap by the game. A lot of skills don't use the grief damage bonus. But those same skills do use +min and + max
Yes just about everything is subject to the 75% penalty except the plus skill damage on the skill.
Will fools mod on an off-hand claw carry over to blade fury?
Pretty sure fools mod only applies if the weapon is used in the hit.
I don't think blade fury uses the off hand for calculating
grief doesn't work then how about enhanced damage of pheonix or added damage of war traveler? and how's gonna work for two handed claw? thanks
Off weapon ED does work yes, so fortitude, phoenix, ect
But remember it is still effected by the 75% penalty
@@GGMentor thanks! then how about the added magic damage on chaos? I think it's like a damage on grief
Does bf utilise c2c on the offhand as well? If so the options get pretty interesting...
Omg ! What is this.A Huge Rat ? 😱 19:35
That is Mr. Nimoy he is a chinchilla =)
ruclips.net/p/PLMSHEYBEG_OMch3hSPo1zUiuuqgBNNu1-
Would you say dragon talon or Blade fury apply more dps with a 2k+ enchant ?
Does Blade Fury work with Pierce% items?
Good question, answer is no
No,unfortunately not.
@@GGMentor Damn :(
Hope they buff it with this at a certain point, would definitely make it even more viable, imo
Lol Haaayyyy gurrrllll it's my jam
Mfs still ain't fixed the ar tho
@@whitekony1006 they added a tiny bonus
@@GGMentor like an insult lol
I am about to be humble flag. But is your mercenary using blessed aim? If not I wonder if that would take care of your attack rating issues
Isn't a Scissors Suwayyah the ideal Chaos base? Hits the best WW breakpoint and deals far more damage than a Runic Talon.
Not sure what your talking about, this is a video about blade fury not Whirl Wind.
Also death ettin axe is a better blade fury weapon then all but the most ridiculous eth, rare, fools, cruel claws.
As for combining whirlwind with a blade fury setup I have no comments.
@@GGMentor Oh, you showed a Runic Talon Chaos as an example of a high-damage claw. Which, granted, it is. I speculate that your choice has to do with the skill rolls on the weapon. But it does invite my original question. It's just weird to see a Chaos that isn't in a SciSuw.
tl;dr: the question is a tangent.
You forgot blade shield for the assassin skills
I haven't done it yet, still working on finishing the skills
O ok lol I'm waiting for that one because I am working on a new type of bearsin lol
What Diablo website do you use for your Diablo skills info
Has anyone used a buriza with blade Fury?
Please let me know
O.o the thought had never crossed my mind lol
Can't seem to find the blade sentinel video.
Can't find it either lol, I plan on remaking the blade videos anyway they are outdated
@GGMentor was gonna start a blade sentinel last night figured I'd learn myself all about blades from you but unfortunately I had to go to MacroBioBoy, your style of videos are better imo. I'll just postpone my build plenty more to start haha. Loving the content!
I might suggest my Solo Self Found P8 Assassin run through though, she is Blade Fury / Sent ruclips.net/p/PLMSHEYBEG_ONL-R2uNzTey22ZtMc87F45
@GGMentor I'll check it out! Been super fun so far.
best way ive found to make a bowzon is to roll a blade fury assassin lol
Thanks for the info good to know. Lol, LOD blade fury sucked. Patch 2 4 it's still pretty bad.
I disagree, messed with it pre 2.4 And it did fine.
It wasn't bad it was just fine.
2.4 it's much better all around.
They are hard to gear, but honestly I think a well built bf sin is stronger and safer to play than a bowazon.
If you're playing ssf, untwinked, its not a great time, especially pre 2.4, but it's as bad as alot of people think.
I played exclusively ssf for 20 years, but buying d2r for console has transformed me into a degenerate d2jsp paypig lol, gearing isnt necessarily an impossible task of endless grinding for me anymore.
@@whitekony1006 I don't think they are hard to gear just difficult to understand.
Most people have no clue how to properly build one due to the jankiness of the ability.
Best in slot weapon is literally death runeword which isn't even expensive with the highest rune being a vex.
And the ettin axe being the best base which is easy to find.
It's also a 5 socket runeword which means you don't even need to find a 5 socket ettin axe you can just find a Ethereal ettin axe and let larzuk put 5 sockets into it.
Most of the rest of your gear can literally consist of plain Ed jewels in gear.
Like 3 we jewels in a nats armor.
1 Ed jewel in a gface ect
@@GGMentor
I agree, I guess I worded it poorly. It is a very gear dependent build, though that gear isn't all hard to get, that concept is hard for some people to figure out- precisely because it is such a strange skill.
I cant tell you how many hours I've spent referencing ancient diabloii.net posts and guides, theres a great one about min maxing blade fury that I have gone back to many times over the years.
What do you think about giant skull instead of gface? With hilords and edeath I've got more than enough ds, and healthy cb with edeath and gores, but more ed from sockets and most importantly knockback, which would allow me to wear whatever gloves I want, like loh or steelrend or dracs.
Blade fury takes out skeletons easily. Use a Black and it can take out champions in hell.
I need natalyas mark can you help me
I Pay good
Until they fix the AR problem, it should be avoided
I disagree, even before 2.4 blade fury sin was a fun challenging build.
It's much better now than it ever was before. And there are ways around the ar issues
@@GGMentor It is the lack of flexibility that is the problem. I love the skill but I want more options
