So glad this video came across my feed. It was very helpful. Definitely been trying to find alternatives for years with no help from google lol. Salute to you and all the other black social workers on RUclips creating content! The representation is needed!
Thank you sooo much! I really needed this. I am at the Associate's level however, I feel like people that I know who are currently Social Workers don't know about all the great opportunities available to them.
good luck with it all! I recently decided I want to go back to finish my BSW and go for my MSW :). it will take a year before i can go back but I will be working towards it
How exactly do you get in HR with no hr experience? Also, in many states you can’t be a school counselor without a degree in school counseling which is typically not a sw route.
Thank you for the video! I'm in the middle of my practicum and am second guessing everything in the profession. Social work can be overwhelming for a day to day career! At the same time, I want to finish my degree so I can use it in other fields of interest :)
I am so glad I found you thank you for this information! I have three classes left in my bachelors of psychology so I’ve been looking into what is next
Hey good vid. Referencing the QR code at end of video, what kind of sessions can social workers independently book? Like therapy sessions? Would love to hear it explained in a vid.
Hi Kimmy! I am still taking my prerequisites in college and will be applying to a BSW program soon. I am still deciding on what career path to take and have watched a few of your videos, which I love. Going through your videos I was wondering if you have one that covers educational needs for the jobs you talk about in your videos. And what all of the acronyms mean. I had not intended to go for a MSW but I may have to after watching your videos. I had never heard of a LMSW and LGSW though and needed to look it up. I also had to look up what GS meant for government jobs and still do not understand how that works. lol Do you have a video going into depth about these things?
I regret getting my bachelors degree in social work I really didn't find a job in it. I have been working with children in the school system. I have no interest with getting my MSW at all or becoming a teacher at all. I am more open to becoming a Nurse. Then having anything to do with social work. People don't get your Bachelors degree in social work it's not worth it there's barely any opportunities. And it's best to go for something else where you won't be struggling financially. Yeah social work isn't worth it at all. Go for something else. Just being honest from my experience.
There are a lot of opportunities to do with a social work degree actually. It may not be for you. The job is good for people who want to work in macro social work, mental health or something else.

This is good to know especially since I am feeling defeated after failing the LMSW exam on my first try.

same here, I found a job in it but money is trash. Don't do it! The managers at walmart makes more money than I do.

Heyy Kimmy can you give me info on the MSW entrance interview mines is coming up and I just want to be prepared
Would you happen to know if it’s more focused for macro or micro social work
I’m looking for a career change cause girl I’m tied
Same. Just gave my notice today.
I left almost a year ago. You all comment just made me realize why I left. I just have to figure out what’s next?!?!
I was wondering if you can become a teacher of young children with it
I’m not interested in teaching. Thanks for thinking of me!
Can I get jobs with my associates in social work?
Maybe a case manager depending what state you are in? I'm still in cc so I don't know.
