    As others have said, you're wrong on the Sony camera button. It's insanely useful and I use it all the time. I also know photographers who use the Xperia in conjunction with their Sony cameras since it can act as a second screen. It's genuinely just so useful.
    Also, I think you'd really enjoy an Xperia phone, to be honest. Waterproofing, HDR OLED with a high refresh rate, eSIM and 5G, microSD slot, headphone jack, stereo speakers, fast charging, lots of power, great cameras... It's good stuff.

  • @b_punpun
    @b_punpun Месяц назад +53

    Oh boy, you lost me completely on Sony. This button is great. Period.
    For those who don't know, it lets you open camera app instantly, and can be even set it up to capture a photo while opening. Bo double click on power button. No swipe from shortcut. Just press it for like 0.7 sec and you can capture a fleeting moment. It is two staged, so pressing it to the point locks focus, pressing it completely captures a photo and holding it down captures a series. I don't like a lot of Sony's Android experience, their pricing and support (I do not own Xperia anymore and probably I wont). But hating this camera button is borderline idiotic.

I am so glad that apple added a SHUTTER BUTTON (fuck off camera control, nobody gives a shit), so i can just spam click the shit out of it while taking my phone out and that it'll be ready by the time i have pointed it on the thing.

    • @b_punpun
      @b_punpun Месяц назад +6

      @arctrix765 couldn't agree more. I feel like they added all of those swipes gestures unnecessarily, to just differentiate themselves from Sony's button. But all they needed to do is to add the same button. But hey, the shutter button is a shutter button. Cannot wait for more phone manufacturers to start to copying Apple copying Sony.

    • @fredrickbambino

    Xperia's treatment of the shutter button downright perfect, as it is a two step trigger going from smart autofocus to capture, that's where apple failed, their button is just too much without adding any functional advantage as focus is still controlled by tapping and all the mini menus are accessible by swiping

    The camera control button feels especially weird to me because I really thought the whole reason Apple refuses to integrate a fingerprint reader into the power button is because the cases would have to have a giant cutout for it. Apple's action buttin is also stupid. A whole new button to do only one thing.. instade of that,they could've just gave the power button more functions(but,ofc,that's trough software so they can't market it) the power button on my s23 for exemple(is not an argument of which is better) can: 1 open/ close the phone with a single tap(same on the iphone); 2 by long tappung,i get a mute switch; 3 double tap to open the flashlight;4 tap 3 times for the camera; 5 tap 5 times to call 112(i'm european)(same on the iphone) . Just give ppl a way to quickly open the camera by for example pressing the power button 2 times fast like on some androids and then let the volume buttons controll the camera features. @Senior_Heel Месяц назад

    Hey man, I love your videos, but I respectfully disagree with you on the Camera Control part...
    Sure, you can do everything you want in the camera app itself, making Camera Control redundant...
    Camera Control is meant to make Camera Controls more accessible whilst holding your phone... like you hold them in landscape with 2 hands and use either your right index finger to control it, instead of pulling out one hand and tapping the camera app, that way it makes camera control faster and easier to access....
    But yeah, it is redundant is portrait mode, because you can't access camera control that easy while holding with one hand
    Also, people's complain with camera control is that it is kind of harder to access [in portrait] instead of opening accidentally...
    But yeah, it also feels redundant when you place it on a stand, cuz in that way, in both portrait or landscape, tapping the camera app is more convenient...
    But hey, Camera Control seems to be that button which solves a small problem without adding much frustration.. lemme know if it has indeed caused frustration...

    The camera control button. The button and control should have been incorporated in the existing Action Button.

    I have had a few google phones I even daily the 7 right now and I miss the squeeze feature, I never had an issue with it and even enjoyed using it at times, but I will admit it was quit gimicy

    I think buttons are useless but the masses like them. in reality, how many times during the day do you lower or raise volume? maybe once or twice(never with the screen off because I need visual feedback). The only button that makes sense is the power button but this is because manufacturers never give us another option. With tap to wake you don't need a power button to wake the screen up and if we had a tap to lock option we wouldn't need a power button. I know people whose phones are unusable because the p button registers presses, don't work or are stuck. This is a real problem.
