Regardless of everything, they were good people at heart and tried to be good role models. Kevin for sure still carries that with him. He’s a good man and deserves the peace he found.
It broke me the dark side of the ring documentary that Kevin had to keep take a minute of the heart break he went through just very sad and seeing he still in great spirits with himself here
If you watch the dark side of the ring episode on his family he speaks on it and honestly he has such a positive outlook on everything that's happened he of course misses his brothers but he understands they're in a better place and he seems so at peace and calm and humble it's insane I'm happy for him hoping to see his sons make big wrestling moves
I have alot of respect an admiration for Kevin for staying strong mentally and physically after all hes been through and losing his brothers. An all around good dude.
I'm actually really surprised that Zach didn't meet him prior to filming. Usually actors like that like to spend some time with the people they are playing and pick their brain and get their mannerisms and shit down. Very surprising that he didn't meet him first
@@colin6603 I completely disagree, the amount of time and effort Zac put into this role, all the physical training and research he did on Kevin & the family history to prepare for this role proves that he is a very dedicated actor. And many of his past co-stars have said he is very dedicated & hardworking. Even the real Kevin has complimented Zac and said Zac knew alot about him because he did the research on him and his family. Zac also did all of his own stunts in the movie, he did not use any stunt double, he did everything himself, all the wrestling stuff you see in the movie are real, they were all performed by the actors themselves.

Yeah I was about to say many people who know fritz said the movie actually went tame with his portrayal in the movie and he was actually WAY worse in real life and he’s already really bad in the movie so him calling his dad fritz and not dad makes sense

To me I am that age where the Von Erich’s were legends but my favourite was Kerry. Here in England we had limited access to wrestling in the late 80’s early 90’s but I knew of the history of the Von Erich’s and I loved Kerry/Texas Tornado!! But seeing all the docs they have and all the media, Kev is an absolute legend, love the guy!!
Omg I lived on his property for 40 days! My family and I were in Hawaii, Kauai helping with the opening of Island craves, we got to stay with Kevin van Erich and all his children and grandchildren. It was such a great experience and I hope we can visit again!!!
Yea I’m not gonna lie, that movie was much better than I expected and much different. Really was a story of brotherly love, and it was incredibly touching

Even though some of the events that happened the timeline was off and they completely left Chris's brief career in the ring and his self ending out of the movie altogether, I did enjoy it tremendously. I used to go watch the Von Erichs wrestle at Will Rogers Coll. And also the Sportatorium in the heyday of World Class Wrestling from the age of 10 till age 13 pretty religiously, so these guys and Bruiser Brody and most of the other WCCW roster were like superheroes to me.
I read somewhere that they combined Chris’ story a bit with Mike’s or Kerry’s story and including his part would’ve made the movie longer, but I do agree. It would’ve been nice to include Chris.

I’m so confused, because on the vice dark side of the ring Kevin talks about his father Fritz, telling him at one point to, “shoot himself just like brothers did (Chris and Kerry)”, but then he is critical of the movie for being harsh on Fritz. Idk, imo depression doesn’t help but your family definitely influences your choices in life and how to approach situations
A LOT of people take up for their abusers especially when it’s a parent .. also probably different telling your story vs someone else telling it differently than the way you do

For instance, Jamie Fox didn’t want to meet with Ray Charles because the Ray Charles he would be meeting with was in his 70’s. And Fox was playing him in his younger years. I can’t say for sure why Zac and Eric didn’t meet up, but just wanted to offer some possible reasoning.
Excellent movie. In a climate of a bunch of remakes and shitty action films, The Iron Claw is a heart breaking family drama and character study. If you have a chance to watch it, please do. It'll make you call your family on a whim.

They can't compare to divinely beautiful Torrie Wilson diva days

They had Geno Hernadez and Bruiser Brody tag teaming. Fritz being against selling the company. Watching all this made my head want to explode. Then that ridiculous scene after Kerry killed himself?
