- Forgot to mention in the video it has a 28” clearing width! Cant wait to try this beast in the Northeast Snowstorms we get! I look forward to doing more videos on it. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for watching! -RJGaming
I have a 928 that I bought in 1993. Not a typo! Have made the normal repairs, belts, a few cables etc. Lives outside with the honda cover. In Montreal winters - still starts on 1 or 2 pulls. You will be very happy!
This is one of the best videos on a Honda snowblower out there. love the delivery and down to earth commentary. so much so I ordered mine today and the dealer tells me two to three weeks and we will have our 2022 HSS928CDT. this video won me over.
I’m glad I could help!! Couldn’t be happier with the purchase, worth every penny.
@@rjgaming7563 Honda dealer called yesterday and the machine is in so we pick it up tomorrow, I am going to do some videos this winter on the use of it in the wet heavy maritime snow to show how it works here.
What does CDT stand for?
Congrats! I went through a lengthy and painful process to decide what snowblower to buy, purchased and returned/sold 3 new snowblowers, one of which was hydrostatic (not Honda) and decided that if you want Hydrostatic and quality, Honda is the way to go. I already own a Honda car and generator, so this is a nice addition.
What a machine and a great walk around. Cannot wait to see it and use it !
I have one of these machines. This is my 3rd Winter using it. IT IS AWESOME !!! And, It is a REAL SnowBeast. I get the Lake Effect Snow in WNY from Lake Erie. This machine handles it with ease. 5-6 feet of snow fell in November '22. Real Honda Quality.
The Track is great for concrete driveways, stone driveways and on Grass Walkways. The machine not cheap., however, it is well worth the money. You will not be disappointed.
Very good video.
When you store it do you run it dry, drain fuel, or just shut off fuel line and make sure to use stabil?
I just retired a 31 year old Honda HS80 track drive and replaced it with a HS724 track drive...my neighbour will likely get another 10+ years out of the old girl. I chose the 24" to get through gates and around corners in my yard...first snow last week (north Ontario) and it walked through 12" drifts like they didn't exist.
Thank You the best Walk around . What's crazy is I couldnt sleep wounding if I should go in debt for this 32 inch electric start. I'm asking God to be there . And the first video when I turned on my phone was Yours. The homes I'll be taking care of I cant fail. So it looks like The Lord wanted me to see Your video. Your video was that good
Bought one ten years ago and never looked back. This machine is the best one that I have seen so far. When I blow snow next to other snowblowers mine just blows them away sorry about the pun. Still starts with 3 or 4 pulls even at -40 that we get up here in the north.
I bought this model 3 years ago without any hesitation! I live in the lake superior snow belt where 200 to 300+ inch winters are not uncommon! This machine has had no problem in 3 feet of snow i had to add drift cutters to handle that. I own honda 4 wheelers so I already new I bought a quality machine ! 3 years in and its been flawless as expected ! This machine throws the snow 60 ft and that another plus !
Great review, I have a cub cadet that attaches to my tractor. It’s a belt drive, I live in the Buffalo area. The Cub blower is junk, belt slips and burns. I think this is the tank for me! Thanks!!
Loved it,
That's my next snowblower on the list.
We bought the same model you did in 2020. Believe me it was the best investment we ever made. I've had other snowblowers over the years, and nothing held up. Always broke in the first year. The Honda though starts right up every year just fine. My dad was right. If you want things that will last you have to be willing to spend the money.
I got a Honda hSS928 awd (wheels) similar to this. Bought it from a guy who was moving to Arizona and needed fast cash. Got it for $1600 and he paid $2850. I also got a Honda hs1332 tas track snowblower. Can’t wait to compare the two if we get a ton of snow! I’m still waiting
I have an HS 928 that I've had for about 10 years. It does very nice even throwing slush. I have tires but may update to get tracks as I have a very very steep and long driveway now. Always starts easy. I did replace all the various auger bearings once, replaced the scaper blade too, and recently put in new drive belts and changed the light to an LED. I used it for multiple neighbors and mowed down some huge snow banks. It will chop up crusty ice too. Hydrostatic is great too as you can slam it forward back if you have some really frozen berm. Throws snow very far. Occasionally lost some sheer pins. I think the electric powered shoot will be nice but will need a battery tender over the summer.
If I may ask why did you replace all the Belts and bearings do they really wear out in 10 years?
@@ABC-nv8ly In the first years I got a lot of salt on the machine and it got into the bearings after about 5 years. They definitely needed replacement. They are very easy to repair. Only recently I needed one belt but it lasted about 10 years. I also replaced the lamp with an LED bulb.
@@rickrys2729 Got it thank you Sir.
Nice video I got the HSS724CT I think yours is a bit more advanced but you got to love the Honda
Beautiful machine! I just ordered it's baby brother (hs720as)for my small property. I can't wait to play with it. I'm replacing a very tired old 2 stroke.
Honda makes great products, this snow blower is a perfect example.
How do you feel about the 928 now?
I'm considering one now ,thanks!
I absolutely love it!! I’ve done regular service on it each year and I have had zero issues. No matter what kind of snow I’m working in it throws it no problem, even the wet slushy crap!
@@rjgaming7563
Good to hear thanks !
Buy once cry once,
But I think it will be worth it .
Can't figure out why they don't OEM heated grips.
There is a good vid showing how to install a good set of aftermarket h grips.
Ok in sold!!
@@spartanj2957I definitely cried alittle on the purchase price lol. I did 0% over 12 months at the time which helped alittle on the wallet hit. The quality of how this is built is rare to find anymore. It’s nice to know when I go out it’s gonna start and get the job done and not be a pain in the ass. And I agree I wish they included heated grips factory esp for the price you pay.
@@rjgaming7563
Your right about going and starting it ,No AC start, and get the job done
W/O a break down.
I wish I got mine when you got yours everything is so inflated now ,3400 out the door .
The only thing I don't know is about the battery ,
can you put a battery tender on it ,it gets 25 below as a high a lot here in MN .
I put in motorkote ,can save your engine from cold starts ,it saved one of my cars driving 20 miles w/o oil in it well it has 1 qt.its a hyper lubricant not an oil additive.
Bet you get more snow there. My wife thinks we should get the 724 easier to handle for her if I'm out of commission,I told her
I didn't think there would be any difference ..
She doesn't want to lift or have to physically turn it.
I think it will do all that for her.she should be able to push down and lock the auger housing in place don't you think.?
We have a few years on you lol.
Just saw a vid where a guy was complaining the it doesn't steer easy with out muscleing it ,some agreed some said it's no problem. My wife won't be able or want to muscle it around .
How does it turn for you !
I hope this is unit is not slow. I plan to get old skis from ski shop they usually throw out and use that as a skid for the front auger body, perfect for the winter.
I just got mine here in Wisconsin and was wondering how you store it. I have stabil mixed into my gas can but do you drain the gas out of the thumb valve you showed or do you just turn gas line off or do you run it dry before storage?
Nice video. Good walk around video
Beatiful! Best of luck with it.
$5,500 Canadian. OUCH! She's a beauty but expensive, I still want one though.
Enjoy, I have a 20 years old Honda HS928 and it is still a tank
Nice video
Can't go wrong with the honda power plant but the frame is subject to rust, and there's no replacement parts for body components that rust out (auger chute etc). If Honda discontinues it, getting parts for it is problematic.
Owned lots of honda powered things, had few complaints about any of them overall.
Random info: Honda's 7hp snow blower unit says 7hp on the adverts but is actually a 5.5hp motor according to factory stats.
I am considering bith the 724 and the 928. I'm worried that the 9 will be too heavy for my wife if she needs to use it. Did you consider the 7 at all?
When you were considering your purchase did you look at others such as Toro or Ariens snowblowers? I own an older 1332 track and am looking to change since it has become to much to lug around as I’ve aged, now 75. If so, please advise why you did not choose the others. Thanks
Any discount off MRSP? Did they charge an "unboxing and setup fee"?
Great. Choice won’t Go. Wrong I Have Honda. 2015. Big Boy. Love it. From Boston’s
2:20. Sorry, but that's not a differential as the augers always turn at the same speed. It's just a gearbox. 7:33. Sorry, but that's not an air filter. Take off the cover and you'll find no air filter at all. Regardless, thanks for making the video.
I also have a HSS928 - happy will performance and reliability but the handles are a bit low. That can be issue for people who are taller than 6´ … I am 6’4 and it is annoying to have to bend over, especially when you raise the front. I can live with it but a taller person should check that out to decide if it is an issue before buying.
How old is your machine?
@@chrisE815 bought in February 2021
I got the same model its 10 years old best snowblowers made. and tracks are good, and blower with just wheels is a toy
How much did you pay??
I have one
best purchase i ever made next to my house 9 horse is plenty and 28 inch is just right
GREAT MACHINE, honda should have included skid shoes with the unit... its a joke that they did not. :-/
22.000 thousand dollars lolo just kidding yes its a nice machine.
You never start from go. You start from neutral. You are going to destroy ur transmission.
Looks too clean to use. You should store it in your garage and never use it.😂😂😂😂
you should have bought an electric snowblower because that one will be illegal soon. California just banned them and New York state drafted the same ban modeled after the California ban and it's fully expected to pass. Once it passes, Pennsylvania will probably be next and then the other Democrat run states will implement the same ban.
Lolll what are they gunna do come n confiscate it? I’d love to come n see em try…no government or person is going to stop me from using the tools I own
Stop being silly
@@tjlovesrachel I haven't seen them confiscate them yet but there are local government laws in California that fine people $1000 if they get caught using gas powered lawn equipment.
@@mrbubetube lolllll silly commiefornia this is why people and businesses are leaving … but I’m glad I don’t live there and over my dead body will my state/government confiscate and or fine me for using my equipment… but let’s just hope it doesn’t come to that here… and those that got those fines shouldn’t pay
