There is something special about your Norway vlogs that resonates within me. The dramatic landscape and sailing there in Winter. I’d rather watch your vlog than ten others in the tropics. I’m so impressed how much your sailing skills have evolved and how beautiful Uma looks sailing there. Thank you for sharing glimpses of your sailing life.
Funny I was just going to say that. So much more real somehow. I wish Erik would spend some more time on land in some of these interesting places . Perhaps being a local he takes them for granted?

1. Drunk Kika is hilarious, again! 2. Somebody’s a helluva cook! 3. Love: love for each other, and for your shared journey, and the places and experiences it takes a you to. You two just exude love! Thank you for what you do, and what you bring to it.
I don't know how you guys do it. Quite the masterpiece! I loved you showing using the spring method to leave the dock. Watching you sailing while it's snowing. Watching the sun rotating across the sky! Watching the two of you enjoying where you are and each other. I smiled throughout this video! Awesome job!
Another great video. You spend 24/7 together with few others and you still love each other. It’s a gift. Kika, I continue to pray for those in Haiti. I hope your family stays safe. ❤️
What a beautiful world… that includes Uma and you two. The scenery is stunning, the water is so clean and blue, the sandy beach looks just like Bahamas, the extreme weather shifts from sunny to snow and then sun shines again… That “sun setting” is so beautiful, feels like it’s almost like heaven…. I’m honestly jealous that you guys are still so young and healthy, but found love of your life in each other at such young ages, amazingly mature mind and know what you love and do what you both love, enjoy every moment of your journey and each other’s company, genuinely live your life at fullest, and always being honest and humble… I wish I were smart like you guys to know what I most value when I was still young and healthy……. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful journey with us. Love ❤️ and respect ✊
Real sailors and discoverers. That's why your channel is so great and interesting, with beautiful photography. All the best to the people of Haiti, as they start rebuilding yet again!
You have invested so much in Uma, and it shows. No rickety engine, things constantly breaking. It's modern, easy to sail, comfortable and beautiful. You could not do that sail in most of the other channels boats. Well done to you both.
I love your stories, your down to earth humor and ready good videos even when the cameras not always do what you want them to. I often can’t understand how you can make so many shots from different angles. Really proffional. I was born in the Netherlands and love sailing but now live in Zambia, a landlocked country. Great country and people by the way but no sailing. Great that I can join you on your trips this way without feeling the cold. Thanks and keep up the good work.
Dan you are a likable guy but your Kiki lady has to be one of the cutest persons on the planet. She is more fun to watch than a truck full of puppies. I have seen all the hard work you two have done over the last 6 years and what is really so special is the positive attitude displayed no matter what the problem or circumstance. Maybe that is because of some masterful editing but you guys are fun and interesting to watch. Thank you for sharing your hard work, travels, experiences and lives with us.
Sailing Uma says it all: All about sailing, stunningly beautiful videography, and no BS. I love showing your vlogs to my kids as inspiration to them. Thank you.
I always find it interesting to see foreign people react to the weather and nature of the nordic countries. Like the fact that the sunsets last hours, during the summer the sun doesn't go down at all, how it can actually still snow in June, how different it is to sail in an archipelago when compared to an open ocean or places with only a few islands etc. Thanks for sharing!
Kika, brilliant to say "I'm in a bad mood" with such an awesome smile and positive mindset. Fantastic day clearly. Memorable for all the right reasons. Have a good rest.
You guys are amazing!! You are the only sailors sailing North. Everyone else is trying to find warm weather. It really is beautiful..!! Thank you. I've never seen the Norwegian Sea and I probably never will. Thanks for showing me!!! The shoreline is absolutely stunning!!
What I really like about you guys is that you show mostly sailing videos 🤩. 90% of the other sailing channels show repairs of engines, oil changes, overhaul on the hard, installing new electronics that got sponsored and lots of other boring stuff. keep on going. Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪
Its hard to believe two years have gone by since the Atlantic crossing. It seems like only yesterday I saw the image of Kika staring anxiously at large Atlantic waves.
With all the stress and uncertainty of cruising with Covid, you two have converted a potential Schengen exile situation into a victorious tour of Norway worthy of Vikings. Gratulerer~
105 people actually didn't like this?? What the heck? Your Norway vlogs have brought Norway right to the top of my next awesome adventure. Won't rival yours, but I'll do my best even if stuck on land. Fantastic job guys, as always. Love the Spotify playlists as well.
That bone is the rear of the skull of the whale. The back part is where the spine connects and the protrusions on either side are the upper and rear portions of the mandible.
The rear of the skull is formed like a porabola to increase echolocation sensitivity. The sound waves hit and reflect at the back of the skull. Looks like maybe a Spermwhale skull? Right size and shape.
All the stuff you are experiencing through the climate and the different countries, the friends you’ve made and filming all this will definitely give you and your family a lot to look back on remembering we are all here just temporarily. I really enjoy your episodes and enjoy watching your adventures. Please stay safe and fair winds.
Yeah that makes sense. It was the wrong direction for a spillway and the power generation takes place at sea level. Like we said... we're not dam scientists. lol.
Give me these Norwegian vids any time compared to pointless bikini gawking in the Caribbean. Great filming👍. Some of your coastline shots make me think how brave the Vikings were setting off without too much idea of where land was, no engine and navigation by the stars...awesome.
It's kind of nice to see men that don't appreciate all the bikinis in sailing videos and the objectification of women by doing so. Unfortunately, that is the quickest way to build a sailing channel.
I don’t care about bikinis but I still prefer tropic areas. To each his own. I think frozen landscapes are ugly and terrible. o.O Sticking in though because I love Dan and Kika’s personalities.

Another perfectly edited video! As always I am looking forward to the next one! Oh, yes, I have gone back to Step 1 and watched every single one up to now.
There are an umamount of things i like about these videos and you guys. The commitment to sail sail sail as soon as possible, the use of solar and electric and that your interior is more what i like than the historical brown. Can't get over how beautiful Norway is from the sea. The mountains in snow against the blue sky and blue sea, are magical. It's like Switzerland placed in the sea. But I'm equally impressed by your determination to face the elements in order to be able to experience these beautiful scenes. Thank you for sharing all these great adventures.
Keep it up guys, summer hasn't been great this year in the western part of europe. At least you guys enjoy pure nature, dramatic landscapes, and long slow sunsets! Your vlog is for me already the best vlog of this year! Love how you two try to make the best of everything! Greetings from Belgium

When Kika jumped from that whale bone I almost jumped outta my chair! Guys, these movies keep getting better and here I never think you can top the previous. Beautiful.
You two are so sweetly inspiring on many levels. I just bought a 22" sailboat this summer. It lives on Dillon Lake. The winds there are crazy. I am learning a lot about fickle winds.

My guess on the double-dam is that they built a canal to channel the water into the top of the dam. If I'm right, there should be a spillway at one end and an inlet for the hydroelectric generator at the other.
Yeah likely a mill race imo
That is my guess as well.
An aquaduc?
My guess is to fill it full of clay or something to seal the dam - I would have thought small rocks on their own are not very waterproof.
It will drain the water when the reservoir gets to a certain height. Taking pressure off the wall.
