I went to so many concerts at the capital in the 80s . Glad to see it's still there. Hopefully you do another over other parts of the city. Would like to see my old neighborhood ( mackin and Dupont) over by hurley and the Eastside.
Thank you for the video. As a former resident of Genesee County, your video captured the ghosts of Flint in my youth. The music added so much to the mood and memories. Thank you again.
WRKR called this footage majestic. Breathtaking. As a lifelong Flintoid, I find it very sad . Dark and depressing. Desolate. Cool footage, but not breathtaking. Don't know how old the author of article is, to have described it as such . He never saw the bustling, beautiful Downtown Flint, as it used to be. Now, its just a cement skeleton.
I agree with you. I remember Flint as a bustling, as you said, money making town where one could make a decent living without a college education. All my relatives worked for GM. I bet the Mott Foundation Building is nearly empty. Would really like to know for sure. I remember the energy that existed in the early to mid 60's between Wally's and Colonel's Drive-ins on N. Saginaw St. Teenagers would be seen in anything that would roll like, for instance, the family station wagon on up to a brand new corvette. The stream of headlights lined up waiting to, most of the time, just drive thru to be seen or see who's there. I remember the many theaters such as, The Northtown, The Garden, The Strand, The Palace, The Michigan, and The Della. I see The Capitol still exists. There is much more I could comment on but, I just feel sad after watching this.
Now rethink this video with thousands and thousands of shoppers everywhere. Lines a block long outside the theatres, Busses everywhere, dropping off people. Traffic bumper to bumper on Saginaw. Music from the record stores blaring. Real stores with goods and not storefronts for Govt and medical needs. This scenario happened everyday once upon a time. That was Flint when it had 200,000 productive citizens and now?.......... might as well change the name to what it is, Gulag town with feet shuffling humanoids idling their lives away. Gulag town doesn't even graduate 275 total high school seniors town wide now. I attended Gundry, Holmes and Central and am embarrassed for what it is now. Sound harsh? Reality sucks.
Hey! I am a filmmaker from the Lapeer County area and wanted to reach out to you regarding your footage of Flint. I am working on a detective webseries that takes place in and around Flint starting next year and I was wondering if you wouldn’t mind if your video was used in different episodes in snippets? I’ll credit you at the end of each video as a thank you if you’re cool with me using it.

Thank you so much for your drone video. I’m just starting out at below amateur level with my brand new drone.

Cool shots! That huge graffiti looks amazing 😲👍
i realize it's quite off topic but does anybody know a good site to stream newly released tv shows online?
@Brecken Stanley Try Flixzone. You can find it on google =)
I’d like to see around the Haskell Park area where I grew up. There was danger in the 70s and 80s but kids still played
Soo cold and sad looking.
