This kind of setup was common, in amusement parks and chain pizza restaurants* as far back as the 1980s at least. It's kind of heartwarming to see a place where the animatronics are still working and being used! Sadly, a lot of this kind of stuff just got thrown away. *(Chuck E. Cheese, Showtime, etc)
