- Hello.Today I visited my new dugout in the wild forest. Winter sleepovers are especially pleasing in their beauty and coziness. I also took my electric saw with me for a test drive. Enjoy watching it, everyone!

Watching this dugout and its improvements is so therapeutic!
I LIKE these videos where a shelter is developed for longer-term use and where the builder can add to them as desired. I ALSO like to see how the space is used: in this case, including for a supper of tea, hearty bread and butter. Few Americans would think of that as a suitable repast, yet it IS traditional in Slavic countries.

I always used to leave wood prepared for the first fire whenever i left camp, would have different sizes cut and kindling ready inside a waterproof bag. that way the fire could belaid and set in minutesofgetting there.

This is my dream home! Instead I live smack dab in the middle of a city. Makes no sense to me. I live vicariously through your videos though. I was born and raised right outside of Yellowstone in the United States. So for the first 20 years of my life, this is what we did for fun. And for the last 50 years I've been living in a city now I'm too dang old to get out of here!😂

Needing/wanting a new saw myself I went about checking out the Stihl, Husqvarna, and Echo model electric saws and ended up buying the Echo 58V 16" bar model and love it. So much easier to handle, much quieter, and great cutting saw. I have absolutely no complaints. Hope you like yours as I like mine. Be well. Safe travels. Happy trails.
Don’t about others, but I like the Russian, MRE’s. I have several of those solar light bulbs, they’re great produce a lot of light, for a long time.

Agree. His videos are the among the best I've seen. Music is not needed and just a distraction. There's a guy in Ontario Canada who has been documenting his building of a log cabin over the year - Myselfreliance has no music, just sounds of nature and him working on the cabin.

I just love your background music Dima. I remember it from your first vlogs I started to watch. Great job on last video where you camouflaged the outside, particularly the roof and chimney area. Hopefully so no one else will find/see it. Perhaps when you have time you could fix a cover over the outside stairway and door to keep snow, water and ice out. Please, take care of yourself and your family and stay as safe as you possibly can. We are all concerned and wish you well and the very best.
These small electric saws are great for work burning stoves or smaller stuff. Plus bo having to carry gas and oil, other than bar oil, is a great added bonus. They also do not overheat as fast

Dima, how comfortable is that bed? Can't you bring in a few more yoga mats, maybe an inflatable mattress? Sleeping in a thin little sleeping bag on one thin sheet of foam rubber seems to defeat the purpose of having a permanent shelter. All that hard work to make the dugout and all you get to bed down on is barely a step up from a flat rock.

I just had a thought when you brought in the firewood, a next project could be making a tall oblong shape ‘box’ to store your wood upright instead of along the wall. Just a thought. dima .. avoid using candle especially because your dougout is made of light materials it can cause fire we don't know im just concern .. just make fire only on your stove
