- This is the WORST MacBook Air M2 according to most... but is it really that bad? The base model m2 macbook air only has 8gb of unified memory, and a single NAND SSD which is a downgrade from the previous M2 Macbook Air base model. The M2 Macbook Air also has thermal problems, but are they really that bad?

Thank you for this review! I really want to get the M2 air base model as my travel laptop or when I'm outside because of the portability but because of those reviews by other big RUclipsrs saying it has a lot of problems it made me question but thankfully there are other reviewers like you who will clarify things like this model is not for pro use and that gives me that big decision to get this model within the month!

You are one of the very few creators who actually said this machine isn't for super intensive editing work or such. It's an Air. It's for the casual user.Everyone was just running behind the headlines. Not what it actually is.

Because it's the truth! But don't let that fool you, it CAN handle it, for the basic/ beginner creator it will be more than enough but if you work on videos/ photo editing professionally, it's not meant to handle those workloads :)

Great video man. I'm watching this on my base model M1 MacBook Air and I'm upgrading to the M2 model for the redesign with 1TB ssd and 16GB memory for software development. This laptop is great!
I just got mine. (Base model) was kinda anxious cuz lots of youtubers are talking crap about this laptop. But I’m just a regular user… gonna use it for excel, word, power point, Facebook, RUclips. Maybe photoshop once a while. So I think it’s going to be more than okay for me. Hope so 🙏🏼😅

I just got mine yesterday and I absolutely love it. These other RUclips channels are full of crap. This computer is amazing. I don't know why people are shitting on it. Thank you for being unbiased and not following what everyone else says about this laptop. It deserves a lot more praise!
I appreciate the kind words and I agree, there's bend a lot of negativity surrounding this laptop - while the thermals are problematic, people buying this laptop aren't going to be putting themselves into situations where they'd need to worry about it OR won't even notice. It's a solid laptop, one of my favorites I've ever used.
@@valismind That’s what I’m noticing is that I’m not even hardly even pushing the laptop at its minimum, and I’m really getting a sense of how unrealistic all those crazy benchmarks are.
@@m.hreels9822 Yeah, it's amazing, battery life is awesome too considering it's size :) I am very happy with it!
for me, what keeps me from loving this laptop and somewhat joining the hate train is the slower ssd. I get it, realistically I probably won't even notice the slower ssd... but it's more of the principle of paying more for less that's bothering me.
forgot to mention that I am talking about the base model only. obviously it's a non issue for those who upgrade the storage to 512gb or higher, but for most people (including myself), upgrading the base model is not an option. too expensive.

ya i picked up the m2 air base at bestbuy needed something quick my 2015 macbook pro crapped its self. i do mainly photography work i use Affinity photo/designer an luminar neo an pixelmator pro and i write papers an stuff for school. there has never been an instance where i though "oh this sucks if only i had the faster model
Yeah, it's def much much much faster than the 2015 MBP as well, and it wont get nearly as hot thermally + the battery life is a treat. You'll love it :) I feel like this laptop fits PERFECTLY within some ones use case like yourself.
I like how,recently, Max Tech were praising the M2 MacBook Air when using low-power mode
Good content, but could be better. You really need to shot more 2nd and 3rd footages rather than putting headshot more.

Hey, thank you I appreciate the kind words. To be honest, I don't know much about any of them to be able to make a concise video - though, what I can tell you, is all of them eventually with become susceptible to breaches/ hacks, and nothing is really "secure" if anyone wants to get into something, they can & it's just a good idea to keep that in mind.

I was going to get this laptop but the “lack of pro motion for the price” swayed me over to surface studio laptop… it’s a lot heavier and battery sucks in comparison (I already own the MacBook Air m1 so that’s going to be like my travel ultrabook) but I really wanted the Linux x86 compatibility, discreet nvidia gpu for gaming, and the pen support… not to mention the ssd is upgradable to a 2tb Samsung 980pro nvme which is less than $300 these days… Not only did the lack of pro motion sway me over, but when I pixel peeped at the screens in the store, I thought the mini led screen was fatiguing on the eye and despite Apple touting dci-p3, the surface laptop studio still looked way better… colour calibration standard standard and accuracy ain’t the same as display quality which was my conclusion… surface studio display just blows me away and makes my hp spectre 4k oled look boring.
These apple silicons are fantastic machines, nothing gets close

@@valismind The promo is valid until 9.26. I'm gonna buy a MacBook air and then use its gift card to buy an iPad pro. Delivering the MacBook may take about two weeks which would be after the promotion period (9.26) and for this reason, I wanna know when could I access my MacBook's gift card. If it will be emailed after placing the order, it would be fine so the day after I could order my iPad.

I'm just saying, there are tons of Mac coverage already, maybe windows or Linux may be good. I loved it when you spoke about building your pc in the live.
The thing is because I have to BUY these things with my own money, I tend to buy what I like/ and am comfortable with + it also helps that Apple/ Samsung have a lot of viewership behind their products - which is a benefit/ helps growing the channel.
I would love to check out a Framework laptop, but in Canada it's quite expensive, and it's not something I need in my life or I would consider it. That's the only thing that sucks about being a small creator, it's kind of difficult to get the ball rolling and the money you need to invest in the content alone is extreme.
I was considering doing a build video about my PC, but I'm just not sure how many people would really care about it.

Nah, haha. I had an iPad/ and that 16" pro with the S22 Ultra. I can't see myself going back, ecosystem is cool but these devices for me are tools & I need them to work how I want them to.

At leas in Mac OS since you have the finder bar at the top, the notch doesn't come down any further & when watching 16:9 content/ or any full screen apps it's completely hidden. This is the only application of a notch I can get behind LOL
