The NWSL has announced a new 2022 expansion team "Angel City Football Club" awarded to the City of Los Angeles. Its ownership group consists of sports and Hollywood a-listers such as Serena Williams, Mia Hamm, Natalie Portman, Abby Wambach, Alexis Ohanian, Jessica Chastain, Uzo Aduba, Joy Fawcett, Eva Longoria, Lauren Cheney Holiday, and more.
