Just ordered it. It’ll be my first guitar. I’ve never played before but I’m hoping this guitar will be good for a beginner. I got it on sale on Amazon for $130.
How do you like it?
Hyyy how is it i am going to order one now are you enjoying playing it?
Amazing video! Thank you for this! I was looking specifically at this guitar and trying to find a great review. Keep up the great one, got me to hit subscribe
Thanks for the kind words. Rock on
I really want one of these with the added FX unit. Thanks for making this demo!
BTW that 335 style guitar behind you looks punk AF! I love it!
Cheers!
looks like a great beginners guitar. i just got my x4 pro and i love it. gotta say man great review ❤
I bought one of these to play while I go through a remodel. Adding a compensated saddle helps with intonation up the fretboard. Sounds good enough and literally never goes out of tune, so I'm a fan.
Best review I’ve seen yet. 👍 New sub.
Cheers
To my newbie ear this guitar sounds a lot like a vintage parlour guitar. That is not a bad thing. Nice video, thank you for sharing.
great review! to be honest it was a dream of mine a guitar that i can leave in my car without it damaging. guess im getting one
Wanted a durable travel guitar and this seems to foot the bill. Nice review, thanks.
Very detail review!
Very thorough, thanks.
Good review ❤
Wow i just order one love it
Just small clarifications, it is not full carbon fiber, it is a composite with plastic. The company behind this guitar is US based I believe, but it is manufactured in China.
I have this guitar and I really like it so far, it suits me well as I am a beginner.
All carbon fiber is a composite with plastic. Like fiberglass carbon fiber is threads of carbon in a polymer (plastic) with the fibers providing stiffness to the polymer material. Without the polymer you basically would have carbon wool.
@@MarkLangdahl He's talking about thermoplastic material vs an epoxy resin. Most people would associatiate "carbon fiber" with epoxy, not plastic. Not all carbon fiber is a composite with plastic. There is a big difference between the two. Making a guitar with traditional carbon fiber techniques would be more expensive, but not necessarily better.
Totally Chinese company in Guangdong province. American’s can not make it and would be expensive.
@@MarkLangdahl No, you`re wrong!! Ever seen a real cross carbon plaid, like used in automobil industry or arrowshafts for example ?
There is no plastic in it at all. It`s 100% carbon fiber webbed together and a few epoxy over it, that it keeps the wanted shape (one or several layers of carbon plaids). Not a lot plastic like in this guitar!
Taken precisely, it`s misleading advertisement.
Sir, this is a great tutorial and learning experience. I actually learned how to review a guitar, inspect the functions and measurements, board height and features purpose. Thank you, well played, my applause excellent.
Hi, first of all, thank you for the well made video! I watched until the end! I bought the Nova Go guitar from Enya some days ago, but acoustic-electric. It's my first guitar and I was wondering , when you say the action is a bit high, do you mean that the strings are too high from the frets ? Because I feel like that my strings are a little too high . Maybe it's because I'm a beginner and my fingers are not use to it so I need to press harder because the strings press deep in my skin ? Anyway I don't have the tools and experience to modify my guitar like you. Do you think I should go to a luthier ? Do you think it's important to check it and if the action is actually high , repair it asap ? Thank you in advance for the anwers :D
The easier your guitar plays the easier it is to learn! Find a local guitar shop and ask for a setup. They will be able to tell you if the action is acceptable or make it lower if it isn't. The price will be well worth it
It should cost only 35 bucks for a set up yer strings if new don't change them otherwise buy a new set when u get yer set up
Well done video,
So, it appears you could add a good piezo passive or even a 9v electronic control with tuning... and forget the run out of charge electronics of it's big brother.
I have it in silver glitter. But even better is the pure glass-like finish. This guitar is indestructible. They bashed so badly in shipping the electronics were killed inside. So, with great effort I pulled them out thru the tiny hole. I keep it by the window exposed to hot/cold humidity- it rarely needs tuning. I did pay 3 times the price but it's the most beautiful and indestructible guitar I ever had. Also tunes perfectly.
Bought for my grandson to start with. So far so good. Decent sound, seems very durable. Had the front strap peg come loose but found the nut in side the guitar and was able to put I back on. where did you find it for $160? Best price i found was $200.
It was 160 US on Amazon (or 220 or so Canadian)
@@boechlerguitarsandrepair Is the fret board on this model guitar considered small size when compared to standard adult guitars (when for example compared to the guitars hanging behind you in your video) ? Wondering what your thoughts are as to fret size and larger sized hands etc? Thanks for a great video!
Howdy from western Colorado!
It’s a very good deal, but it’s definitely not fully carbon fiber. It’s a carbon fiber composite, so some carbon fiber mixed with maybe resin and polymer. Enya makes a carbon fiber acoustic that’s like $600-700 USD. The fact remains that it is impervious to temperature and humidity swings. Very cool. Your review is great, especially the work you did to get the action dialed in.
If you were going to install piezo pickups, where would you install them? 😅
nice review… I wonder why you did not tune it properly before testing the sound… bit naive 😊
I have one left full time in the boot of my car. So if I get to work half an hour early, I just get it out play it for twenty minutes.
Interesting fingering for that Aminor chord.
Everything fit and finish on these is very nice.
But they sound...well...plastic.
Sort of wish I had made a bone saddle for it now, that did help.
I love the idea of weather proof. I want a guitar to last me ten years+. Will this? (I'm going on your vouchsafe that the sound is good).
Well this guitar has only been available for about a year, so no way to tell if it will last over ten years. Judging by the material it has a good chance I would say. As for the sound, as you can hear in the video, it's pretty good!
I actually like the look of this guitar
It looks great!
I want this! ❤ How is the arm? Is it regular size or thin because its a travel size. Hard to tell. How is the weight.Ill be grabbing this soon. Awesome review, thanks 👍🏻
Not sure what you mean by arm? The neck is regular sized. It weighs 3lbs 9.5oz
@@boechlerguitarsandrepair sorry that was a typo. Yes I meant to say neck. Ok thanks for the reply
@@boechlerguitarsandrepairSo…really small hands have reach just as much circumference as regular guitar? Just less stretch on length as frets are less spread out?
How is the intonation of the guitar? Did sanding down the saddle throw off the intonation at all? I've picked up smaller guitars before and the intonation can be difficult to dial in.
Seems to be bang on!
Is there a hole cover?
Did you know that Enya has just released a new - even smaller version called the Nova Go Mini? The body of Nova Go Mini is 1/4 sized (32 in"). Also has a truss rod. I HAD to order one because I love both the SP1 and acoustic versions. Mine arrives day after tomorrow.🙂🎸🎶
Let me know how you like it!
bro, I saw your same comment in a few other Enya reviews, wassup with that?
Smaller???? Yikes... You're one already is a bit of a compromise
Спасибо за обзор. Очень информативно и круто. Огромный привет из России. Из Сибири. С любовью.
Bone saddle?
maybe for a knock around travel guitar, that is what i would use it for.
That's how I use mine
nice review brother! i hope can have one soooon! ❤❤ you can send me 1 😁🤜🤛
It's amazing how they can get carbon fibre to look just like plastic and for the same price as a plastic.
Are the frets steel or cheep alloy? Or would I have to replace them for good ones?
They are not stainless just standard fret material. You will not need to replace them
What makes a very normal box seem like an elctronic box? Is it becuase it's black? It's just a box.
What is that little white portable amplifier you have hanging?
Positive Grid Spark Mini. I have a review out for that as well
Hey, what is the fret radius?
I find no mention of that any were.
Hoping it's around 10".
Good luck!
16" radius
16" radius
Thank You!
Wonder how it sounds with a glass slide for blues
Drop her to D and stroke and slide up and down slowly.... AIN'T IT JUST AIN'T IT 😜 lols
I'm wondering also ..
Could you recommend a model of nylon strings for this guitar? thank you

This is £260 ($332) in the UK. The UK is a rip off.... Thanks for the demo

Great video, what is it going to cost me to have you fine-tune one of these if I have it sent to you?
I have a repair drop of location if you are in the Edmonton area, for a setup I would charge $60 CAD
Those dropped saddles made the "Devil's Interval."
is there a possibility of changing battery
There is no battery/electronics on this model. The model with electronics has a battery compartment
On the Amazon Canada site it is 379 dollars?
On for $207 CAD a.co/d/aL892Ji
Wait, can this be a long scale guitalele?
There is another reviewer-Douglas Thomas?- who strung it w nylon guitalele strings, and said it can take either nylon or steel.

Hello where you by this guitare please ?
Amazon.com in Canada
@@boechlerguitarsandrepair
Amazon ?
Yes
Is it all carbon fiber??
It's a carbon fiber composite polymer, but it's all made from it; neck, body, nut, bridge, fingerboard, headstock
Truss rod for a plastic neck?
It's polycarbonate, carbon fiber mixed with plastic, it has a very carbon fiber feel, definitely a lot sturdier than just plastic. Truss is actually quite responsive
Hello ! There is no preamp ?
They do make a model with a preamp as well, this is the less expensive model
@@boechlerguitarsandrepair OK I understand. Thanks a lot.
The inside looked like a crime scene featuring glowing fingerprints
They are asking $189 for the guitar now.
This is far far different from a guitar with woven carbon in terms of durability and resonance. McPhereson, Journey Instruments, Rainsong - these are on a different level. But for the price these are descent - 5 years from now, because they're 95%-98% plastic - the tone will degrade and the neck will warp - especially if you take it to extreme weather situations.
Is there a way to tell how durable they will be other than price?
@@tomhrio does it use woven carbon fiber fabric in the entire construction, or is it just injection molded plastic with 5% or less carbon dust.
@@tomhrio leave it in a hot car for 3 hours
should tell you what you need to know.
Interesting. I’d read it was a plastic carbon fiber composite elsewhere as well. Other reviewers have described leaving it in hot cars in summer, in cold cars in winter-all without the case, dropping it on metal floors, hiking over rocks w no case, and after all this, seeing no damage, and not even needing to tune it.
I don't think that's carbon fiber. It looks like nylon reinforced polymer. Like the stuff pelican cases are made of
Carbon fiber polymer, so a composite
@@boechlerguitarsandrepair yeah, most carbon fiber things are a polymer/carbon composite, like my mt bike
I do NOT understand how you can change worn frets if the keyboard is made of carbon fibre...
I think the cost of a re-fret would be more than the cost to replace the whole instrument, however, in theory replacing the frets would be exactly the same, probably with less tear out than normal wood. Might require a bit more gluing and clamping than wood though
thanks a lot! I'm curious to know how much the carbon fibre is ruined when you take the frets out and put new ones in...
Nova in Spanish is "no go" so this guitar is a no-go go guitar.
But this isn't Nicaragua. It's a majority English language country. And in English, nova is a star and this is a very good travel guitar. I have one.
I’d be tempted to cut open the sound holes under the strings to make one large hole.
Tempted by what?? 💩
Maybe the claim this is a carbon fiber guitar mean there is A carbon fiber in it somewhere?
Still, could be excellent for a young child just due to its toughness.
Its certainly massively better than he Stella Harmony I started on. And, no, those are absolutely NOT worth the stupid prices pay for those ancient toys these days.
original guitar came with a much better hard soft case.
Hey mate, next time I hope you wear a mask when sanding bone...
I usually do 😅 don't need Anthrax
@@boechlerguitarsandrepair no kidding
I just bought mine at Amazon for $289.00 + Tax it cost me $300.00. Yours is cheaper.
Did you get the model with electronics?
@@boechlerguitarsandrepair Yes, I did. maybe I bought it not on sale that's why it cost me more money.

Don’t like rubber truss cover. Could deaden sound. I’d remove it.
Sorry to spoil the party but that’s polycarbonate not carbon fiber. There might be some carbon fiber in the wrap, just to keep false advertising claims away. Still a decent guitar under 200 bucks.
Yeah I did find that out afterwards, still has the same properties as carbon fiber (not affected by temp or humidity) and mine plays and sounds great. Currently traveling with it and it has worked well for me
After playing guitar for 55 years, this is what I’ve learned. With rare exception, you get what you pay for. I refuse to buy any guitars made in China. You just don’t know what you’re getting. The manufacturers continually lie to you. That Guitar is not made of carbon fiber. Get back to me in a year and let me know how the frets are holding up. It looks and sounds like a toy. You could buy a secondhand guitar for $100 at guitar center and you would walk away with something of higher quality. Not trying to be negative, I just hate to see young people buying crap. Did I mention that Guitar sounds like crap? :-)
@@thereyougowithbryan6014 I'm using it for a travel guitar and for that use it's perfect. Sounds decent enough around a campfire and I don't need to worry about temp or humidity. In fact I left it in a hot car over the weekend to test it and it was fine, It didn't even need a truss adjustment. Does a full size wood guitar sound better? Sure. But as a travel guitar for the price I paid I am very happy. In terms of setup and playability out of the box it was surprisingly good. I would argue a lot of decent guitars are coming out of China these days (the new China made Epiphone are getting accolades). Every brand is different of course but I have no issue recommending this guitar for travelling or even beginners or younger players who need a smaller guitar. After playing it for a few months the sound has opened up a bit as well. You may be surprised if you try one!
@@boechlerguitarsandrepair not going to debate the issue if you’re happy with it. After you play guitar as long as I have you start to realize that a guitar can sound OK in the beginning but after hearing it over the course of a month, your ears will tire of it. I have probably owned over 250 guitars in my life and I can’t think of one Chinese Guitar that I found inspiring. As far as carbon fiber guitars opening up, they don’t. That’s the whole point of carbon fiber it doesn’t move it doesn’t change I would never recommend a new player buy one of these guitars they will outgrow it so fast it will not be worth the investment.
@@thereyougowithbryan6014 I think you are right about the opening up, it may have been the strings just breaking in. After owning a music store for 12 years and trying thousands of guitars, I think it's all about the individual instrument and not where it's made. Played some great inspiring Chinese guitars and some terrible US made ones, and of course the opposite. Just find something you like and that speaks to you, don't worry about the price or where it's made, and get playing
Plastic...😅
