I cannot believe the AMAZING Ranking Roger of The Beat has passed away.......what an almighty BUMMER, he was a lovely man and a great singer. Roger you will be sadly missed dude.
@@bikerdretje Roger was a gentle man in all senses. I had the pleasure of meeting & chatting to him in our field at Glastonbury, & sharing a spliff at our small Festival in Usk, where I DJ'd in the other venue whilst the Beat played our main marquee, Roger had ok'd me playin ska & reggae at the same time.
I remember speaking to Roger about Junior at a gig here and he almost teared up and then said, "he makes his old man proud". Greater praise a kid couldn't ask for.
One of my very fav Bands of all time ! I never get tired of them. R.I.P. Rankin Roger. You will be missed by many. I saw them live in London in 1979, and I was spellbound! One of the best live bands I ever saw!
wow! What a man, what a musician, met him once very briefly, I was completely star struck, but he came across as a lovely man. I miss him, I miss the fact he's no longer here. RIP Rude Boy
Rest in peace mate. Thanks for the great music. And the t shirts you gave to me and the missus. The gig at the market tavern in digbeth was the best gig I've ever been to. Thanks for the memories. We'll miss you dude
Charlie W Sorry mate. Can't tell you that. If I told you I'd have to kill you😀. I do have a RUclips channel though if your into your carp fishing. I'm under the title. The common carper
I'm here on the 2022 Anniversary of his passing to Jam...and Promise to do it every year until I pass and someone is snorting me off a Mirror in the Bathroom

Gen "Z"ombie = Kids on Ritlin
@@LifeOfAnEmpath Come on, he's not stupid, just this is his dad's music.
She looks gobsmacked. Nice to see a middle age lot there
Singer is just about making it, but the musicians are a class above. Excellent.

Amazing drummer
RIP Ranking Roger god bless you
Brilliant Performance
What a performance 👌 No disrespect to Dave Wakeling but roger & these guy’s took the beat to another level,
I totally agree. Unfortunately, here in California that was the only version we could see in concert.

Harrison
The drums are sick. Awesome.
R.I.P. 🤍🖤🤍🖤🤍🖤🤍 🔥
Im in love xxx
Oscar Harrison from OCS on drums
I’ve seen the Stone Roses, Rolling Stones, Rankins English Beat at Skeggy was the best gig I ever saw. Fuckin legend rip
cool!
The English Beat was all I listened to in 1980
A very underated band of the ska erea would like to see them but it wouldn't same without Ranking Roger
Johnny Vegas on bass
He owns and the Father of 'The Beat'.
The young girl looks real happy to be there
I couldn’t be a drummer in a Ska band, the temptation to do constant drum rolls would p!ss the rest of the band off too much!
I'm here on the 2022 Anniversary of his passing to Jam...and Promise to do it every year until I pass and someone is snorting me off a Mirror in the Bathroom
Oscar Harrison from ocs on drums?
I love the kid at 1:13 who is clearly ashamed of his dad's dancing!
The Year?..
Hello ?
Sounds like Lola of Miky Gonzales
No disrespect no Ranking Roger but I think that the band sounds just as good today
Is that the drummer from Ocean Colour Scene?
Yes Oscar Harrison on drums..
What’s the drummers name ???
Oscar Harrison..
0:19 that girl be so confused
i cant get over the kid in the audience having an existential crisis the whole time
the youngster at 0.16 is far from impressed!!! lol!!
I covet his coat.
Girl at 1:14 really doesn't want to be there.
The Beat?...Where?
anywhere anytime
...the LITTLE PERSON at 1:33 - doesn't really seem to appreciate the English Beat...Someday they WILL, though!!!
Young girl looks like she's really enjoying it 🙄
young lady in the audience quite obviously there by mistake 🙂
