So my srt4 wont go into reverse at all with the car on or off, and grinds 2nd and 3rd when driving, do you rhink it might be clutch related or transmission?
If it goes into first with the engine running and the clutch pushed in sitting still then no check your cables, bushings and selector plate but it sounds like you have an internal transmission issue
sorry for the late reply, this can be different for each car and type of clutch but all will be similar once installed adjust out the length to take out the free play you want enough length to disengage the clutch, to much length, you can damage the master and slave cylinders and can cause the fork to contact the clutch pressure plate so small adjustments 2-3 turns once the free play is adjusted out
@@taylorsombathy I adjust it out till it just hits the inside of the master cyl no play in the peddle if you make it too long it will damage the master, cause clutch slippage and its possible the fork will hit the clutch pressure plate when pushed, if you need to have the adjustment out too far you have problems and need to remove the transmission and inspect the fork bearing and clutch. I was tracking down a problem clutch didn't want to release when i pulled the trans the clutch disk spring came out normally its the fork that's worn
@@Mattsneedforspeed Thanks Matt. I just put the upgraded pivot rod in and new dcr slave. I was a little worried I had it adjusted too far, but I was completely locked out of all gears at first, and am only able to adjust the rod a very small amount at a time. So im pretty sure i didn't over do it, plus the car starts to creep when the pedal gets not too far off the floor.
@@Mattsneedforspeed Ayyee got it out.. apparently it was tinkered with before, found no piston cup to separate. Got it installed, took it for a drive and e-clip popped out 🤣
Digital_Exile good call I forgot to mention that over adjustment will make the fork hit the pressure plate of the clutch you will know because of the sound ..
By over engagement do u mean having the Dcr push rod adjusted to long my act clutch is smoked and thinking I had the adjustment on my dcr rod to far out
Thank u I figured that I had it adjusted too far out I appreciate your time and your videos they are very helpful got a new act on the way don’t want to make the same mistake
hey I have a quick question for the metal cup is it hard to take out and for my master the yellow/white plunger isn't yellow/white it is metal and the metal cup sits in it and it is very hard to take off and still hasn't came off any thought?
If you have leaking in under the dash at the push rod I’d recommend replacement of the master that damaged typically happens when the oem or cheap aftermarket push rod slides off and pushes on an angle you may be able to get it together and work but plan for replacement
Do you know if the black retaining clip has to go back on the new rod? I’m not taking about the snap ring but the piece after that.
that black cap on the oem rod, I don't reinstall it, any I've pulled didn't have it.

I also can can u tell me how to adjust it correctly? I know how to bring the rod in and out by spinning it but how to I know what's the best position?

@@Mattsneedforspeed thanks I'll do so accordingly
@@Mattsneedforspeed Is there any way to tell if the rod is adjusted too far out, if the fork doesn't hit the clutch?

Will I need a new master? Or can I bleed the system after I figure out how to install this
Can try to get it together if the seal is damaged or worn it will leak, can bleed it I have a video on that also but I’d suggest replacement

Make sure you don't have too much engagement with the DCR Push Rod. I had a little too much and it toasted my ACT HDSS

Dave Cote yes, if it was to long it would be like resting your foot on the clutch all the time. Not releasing the clutch all the way

its possible that you have an aftermarket clutch master installed in the car..
@@Mattsneedforspeed yeah possibly however it seems it id glued there is it still fine to take off?
What part of the state you in? Would love for some stuff to be done to mine. Time is hard working over the road all the time
I’m close to Harrisburg pa.
Hey I leaked a lot of fluid out. And It looks like mine doesn’t have the cup to separate, and the rod won’t budge out. Any ideas?

Thanks for getting back to me and sending the video ..huge help man
