I grew up in Middletown NY, and this place is a whole campus of atleast 9 buildings just abandoned, I always wanted to see this place and find out history on it, My mom always told me Middletown went crazy when they let the crazies out.this place was open for 100 yrs. no history on it......makes u wonder what exactly went on here
Believe me some of those stories are pretty creepy as I lived there for 4 years and have recurring Nightmares about it Today. Some of those will make your hair turn white with the fright!
@@mrmjb1960 I went in that building myself back in 2011 and boy oh boy. I seen somethings in the basement. I really want to know the history of the campus.
I grew up in Middletown myself, I never really knew the full story on this place but was told those that resided there were crazy beyond repair & would never get out, mostly because they were the worst of the worst-criminally insane, psychotic, or completely lost their mind-but whenever I passed by it I just felt it had that vibe that it wasn't a place anyone in their right mind wanted to be at!
Me and my friends went in here a few times when we were kids, spooky place, the coffins in the basement freaked us out. If I remember correctly there was also a coffin for a baby somewhere down there.
I grew up in Middletown NY myself, I moved in the middle of my sophomore year of high school & went upstate-I remember this place & was always told that it was the crazy house where if you completely lost your mind or were psychotic this was the place!
@@AntiquityEchoes Yes it does-I only wish I knew more about it, other than it not being the best of places, it housed the craziest of the crazy, criminally insane, psychotic, I was fascinated yet crept out by this place, yet I understood why!
@@lisagaudiosi7889 Featured in this video was the lone standing wing of the once- massive hospital, which was indeed the violent and severe ward. At one time the hospital stretched across the whole property, and served many people with varying degrees of ailments. It was beautiful. Now it's all a grassy field.
this is great I actually toured this building in 1992 when the army was using it for storage and it was amazing inside, I dont think anyone remembers the library that was in the side of this building it was called bolles library i actually have a tone of books from this library that were in the basement of this building . i still have them all to this day with the library cards .
My daughters and Myself just walked here and my one daughter kept seeing spirits outside and in the windows my great grandma worked here in the 60s as a nurse she use to tell my mother stories about the patients here and the things the doctors did to them it was terrible
I recently drove around that area, would love to go inside but too afraid of getting busted for trespassing. I think they might be renovating it now, as well.
It’s not all abandoned there is a rehab center and homeless shelter on the campus a half way house I stayed at the shelter years ago and worked for them. And a few buildings are office space and doctors offices. So it’s still in use and some houses in use on the campus. One building in the back got knocked down because kids breaking in because it was on some most haunted list. It’s not haunted and Middletown police use one or two buildings to train police dogs. So it’s not “ALL” abandon!

Incredible video. What did those walls witness over the decades? Love your work. Thank you for posting these. I've become a fan.

I still live right next door, Middletown state hospital, New York, tall Oaks
There is a cemetery there identified with a small plaque. A relative is buried there. However no markers can be found. He lived there almost 40 years.
These videos are visceral
They shut down the Kids ward for Children in 1970,and completely down 4 Years later.
