First album I ever bought! I wore that album out! "Bill Church on bass...the Electric Church!" Love it! Thanks for posting this, brings back lots of memories.
Nice dude. Way to fire up the vinyl. I like your style...I like your moves. You just motivated me to go bust out some of the old records. I've got this one buried in there somwhere too.
I hear ya. Lickily, I've had my turn table packed in a box in the garage for the last 20 years, and it's still in perfect condition. I just busted it out and fired it up, and it works like a charm. I was cranking some Ratt in the garage last night...Lay it down, Wanted Man blaa blaa. Loving the old school LPs. I'll never get rid of em. Rock on!
I wish Eddie could've sucked in a bit of ego and let Sammy play this live at a few concerts. I'd love hearing Ed as the rhythm guitar/ dueling guitar. and Mike as bass, and Alex drumming like the champion he is.
Thanks. That album is 30+yrs old & it's still 50/50 it'll happen. Even when I hear that song on the radio, I STILL expect that skip to happen there ; )
He's still a great singer and preformer. He can"t jump like he use to.but it's no big deal. He"s still at the top of his game. If he records roll roll your boat .I. Would buy it
Saw Sammy when he was still with Montrose in like 75, at Sun Devil Stadium, Tempe, AZ as they were part of the Star Is Born Concert, along with Frampton, and Santana and others, 75,000 fans. I'm sure he did this song with Ronnie on Bad Motor Scooter sounds. Does anybody know if Sammy still performs this in concert, as I will be seeing him in concert in Huntington Beach, CA on Oct 6th, 2018. Sure hope he still does this killer song.
YES, saw him w/Heart 4 years ago in Sac, CA You don't get "Bill Church on bass" yet, you get Michael Anthony from Van Halen. just as good & just as fun. How'd it go? Ann from Heart can still hit those notes!!!
Nice! Looks and sounds like my room when I was a teen ... except my stereo sucked, I was a total dirt bag and my parents aren't screaming at me to "turn that f-ing thing down!!!" But otherwise exactly the same
I need this Album, saw Sammy open for Boston, can't figure out if it was 78 or 79, at Sam Houston University in Texas. He played Trans Am, was wearing this Red shirt & pants, I had a shirt Red Rocker, damn wish I still had that thing.
That scratch on the LP that caused the repetition is one MAJOR reason why records became worthless. You can play them only so many times, and then that nonsense always occurred. Tapes were better. Of course, the CD is superior. These talks about vinyl making "a comeback" only applies to new releases with newer sound technology, not the trash that gets baked in someone's garage.
Tapes can wear out, I have 1000's+ Most sound pretty good after 38 years. The "newer" sound technology, "re-mastered crap" they just over compress it to make it sound "louder", overriding the ambiance of the music & the subtleties in the mid range where the music is. Since most stereo systems today are just, tweeters & sub woofers, they over eq both ends. Then over compress it.
Love it. Been a Red Head since 1980!
