    The only reason I picked up a 4080 myself is because of the 8GBs of VRAM on the 3070 Ti. It was such a strong performer held back by just a measly extra 4GB. Since I’m on 1440p, new titles are so unoptimized, it couldn’t handle it anymore. It’s so upsetting to get so little longevity out of a very expensive GPU..

    I expect to build a new pc with a 4080 in a couple months from a 2070S, and I'm very excited. The really annoying thing is that I am actually partially paying for frame generation. If it wasn't such a big difference in RT performance and that it has frame gen, I would definitely get the 7900XTX, but they've come down a bit in price, so I can get a good one for 1100

    you buy a RTX 4080 but use a CPU that is a i7 9700k ? sorry but why dont upgrade your CPU ? Will be a way better Performance uplift then the RTX 4080.
    Let me say it like this "YOUR CPU IS THE HUGEST BOTTLENECK EVEN FOR A DAMN RADEON Rx6800xt !!!!" and you are talking about Performance in games when the i7 9700k is ancient for gaming and Not made for games with raytracing and a resolution over 1080p nowdays !!! no even 1440p this CPU is a botleneck and we dont better talk about 4k.
    Then we have the Insane Slow Ram Speed that this CPU support.
    This CPU is so bad for a RTX4080 that i am really shocked to see someone complain about FPS and Graphic settings with this CPU but bought a RTX4080 o.0 Your CPU matter ALOT when it comes to High end Gaming PC's even Mid end Gaming profit alot from a better CPU.
    Immagine people with a Ryzen 5600x/5800x with a RTX 3080 (cuted 10gb version) has more FPS then you have ?
    I am shocked.

    • @icanseeall-inthisreality
      @icanseeall-inthisreality 9 месяцев назад

      it's understandable to upgrade one thing at a time but the shocking part would not be using a 4080 with a 9700k the shocking part would be buying a 4080 and then not making it a priority to finish the build by upgrading the cpu, mb and ram as soon as possible. but each to their own, but I'm sure his games would run much better with a more modern CPU.

    Great video, also have a 4080. But a 5 FPS difference to modern high end cpu’s isn’t exactly correct. Even when GPU bound, an IPC difference and architectural difference that large isn’t going to be marginal.

    • @timothyjn100
      @timothyjn100 Год назад

      Just watched further and as expected, you were CPU bound in hogwarts legacy and even Cyberpunk Overdrive which is quite possibly one of the most taxing game loads for gpus at this moment in time.
      You are most certainly losing far more than 5fps and 1% /.1% lows would also be greatly larger than that difference.
      Games use the cpu a lot more than older titles. Hogwarts legacy with raytracing on a 4090 is still CPU bound. On a 4080, even more so. And when you’re running extreme loads like cyberpunk overdrive and the gpu is still not able to hit 99%, that’s a telling sign you’re practically always going to be CPU bound. I’m not sure of any other game that could utilise your 4080 if that’s not enough.
      So just a little heads up, there’s a shit ton of performance being left on the table, and i’d imagine the 1% lows to be the most substantial difference in terms of game feel

    • @timothyjn100
      @timothyjn100 Год назад +1

      Also, the 4090 CPU bottleneck in hogwarts legacy with ray tracing on, is with the best cpu’s on the market, 13900K’s and 3D v cache 7000 series AMD. There’s not a single cpu on the market that can alleviate it. Therefore having your cpu would widen that bottleneck by several multiples. As those cpu’s aren’t even comparable

      @@ColeCaccamise The value of a 9700K has diminished quite a bit, as has DDR4 RAM.
      I'm looking at my rig, with a 12900K with an Asus Tuff Z690 motherboard, a 4 TB Gen 4 NVME drive, RTX 3090 and a 280mm AIO. It's probably about a $2200 rig.

      you mean 3000$ when he bought the RTX 4080 ? this rig was without the GPU like 400 or 500 nothing more, the CPU itself is the hardest bottleneck and i really dont understand why people talk about working with the pc and then have that shit setup, the relation from cpu to gpu is so stupid that he will be better to get a RTX3070ti if he loves his 9700k that much.
      Immagine a Ryzen 5800x destroyes the i7 9700k nowdays in every workload and every game and cost less then 200$ ?
      I really dont get it why people get a overpriced High end GPU and use a rig that is so bad that it is somehow pointless to play on that rig, people with a RTX 3070ti and a i5 12600k will have a way better and smoother experience then that guy with his 9700k.
      But atleast he spend every penny he had in to the gpu this is why no Money for CPU upgrade, this is the only one think i can think of in his situation.

      11700k or 5800x would be the bare minimum you would still bottleneck with these, but it would be a good start if you could not get the latest model CPU and would work fine. even the 12700k was a huge step up from the 11700k so I think a 12700k would actually be ok. but 13700k or better would be the best option in my opinion. i have a 11700k and rtx4080 and its not to bad I can live with it, but I really want to upgrade to the latest model i7.

    your information isnt correct as your running a 4080 on a 9700k so there is probably alot of bottlenecking going on

      I mentioned this, but when I compared to benchmarks in UW with a 13700k the difference in most games was 5ps. There were a few as high as 10

      @@ColeCaccamise YOU are doing Benchmarks ? get a damn 13700k and you will see it yourself, most benchmarks and reviews are scams noting more.
      Your CPU is the hardest bottleneck i saw in a wile.

    hey man, I want to upgrade to a 4080 fe and Im using a be quiet straight power 11 750W psu (gold), you think this will be fine?

      @ColeCaccamise  Год назад +1

      As long as the power supply has 3 PcIE cables you can attach to the 4080s adapter. 750W is the minimum for the FE so you should be fine with it
