I could have an inkling of sympathy for Brooke if she slept with him one time and felt enormous guilt but she kept sleeping with him and declaring she's so in love with him. This is where my sympathy goes out of the window. and this is where they should have built a tumultuous relationship with Bridget and Brooke.
As you said, that is a flaw in that SL. The writing emphasized that it wasn't just a "mistake" but a repeated betrayal of Brooke's relationship with her daughter. But why did they write it that way, when they then only shifted focus by having Bridget falling for the next "wrong" , "inappropriate" guy?
Seeing Deacon's smile dropped when he finds out Bridget knows the truth. Plus the music with Bridget's face when she tells Deacon that she has a healthy baby daughter definitely sealed the deal.
Stephanie hoping this baby will be a turning point for Brooke... well, that is not going to happen, is it? I wonder if at this point the show was going to try to redeem Brooke, and then just kind of decided it wasn't doable.
It is more likely just the usual writing that says one thing and soon later has the opposite happening. Stephanie dying and gifting Brooke a ring of hers wasn't a turning point either.

Looked like Megan was crushing on Deacon. The show makes a point about forgiveness, but forgiveness doesn't wipe out what a person does, (Brooke), it just allows the victim (Bridgette) to move on. Brooke had 2 more pregnancies after this Brooke is always confused
I am really totally surprised, that after that desaster with Brooke/ Deacon, Stephanie who hates Brooke, is ready to help Brooke get back on track???? Unbelievable.....
You know this show talks alot about addiction and ppl needing help for it. But they pigeon hole addiction as drinking /drugs. They missed an opportunity to show Brooke's constant desire for attention, s E x and wanting ppl's husbands as an actual addiction. One she never got over and grew out of. Bc she never actually does more than acknowledge her wrongdoing for a millisecond, but then goes back to her same ways. And everyone (except Steph) then acts like that's the most normal behaviour in the world, when what Brooke needed, was professional help.

Incredible how much can be pushed into one day, a baby shower, Bridget returning to the house after and overhearing mothers disasterous secret...Bridget running to the guesthouse where Eric will go and then Stephanie will come...then Brooke shows up at the guesthpuse too. Then Bridget goes with Stephanie to Massimos place and then decides to go up tp Big Bear and there we have a childbirth and now Bridget is back in LA confronting Deacon....oh boy, feeling exhausted almost, too much for one day😮!!
The way Brooke refuses to respect Bridgets decision and keeps begging, for her own selfish needs, instead of accepting it and taking responsibillity.... Talk about selfish and selfcentered.
