Wood vinegar trial cucumbers

I've been conducting an informal trail in our research garden on about 24 cucumber plants, applying a foliar spray of wood vinegar (pyroligneous acid) weekly. Although I didn't set up a control for this experiment, the productivity of these cucumber plants has been significantly greater than in previous years without wood vinegar treatment.
