Cant speak for other player counts but its amazing at 2 with how the rules change to go back and forth until the first player runs out of cards. Makes it interesting to pick out that 5th card that you have no intention to play, but all intention to play for free on other player's turn and at the same time mess up their plans. Look at other player's boards/wheels. Oh you have charcoal and clay but dont have any food or brick? Well, you are probably getting food, another player in similar situation, oh I know what card Im going to pick to play on your turn! Excellent!
I just purchased this game and am so excited to play it! So glad to hear the 2 player experience is great. I'm imagining this game is a perfect one to play on a coffee table in front of a fireplace.
Luke I really hope you get to try Ora et Labora one day - I think you may very much enjoy it. It's got different vibe than Glass Road, but I think it's wonderful with 3 players! With 2 I highly recommend the normal variant, the long one might be too long for your liking ;). I hope you'll review it one day! Cheers ;).
Brain burning type of game with something that I love... REFERENCE TABLES! Uwe sure loves them and I love them equally; great that you are finding the game more interesting and yes, 4 players make it chaotic.
I've been fortunate enough time try this game 4 or 5 times. I've found I just prefer every aspect of Broom Service, a similar game without the tricky resource management
That's quite a change from your original first impressions rating years ago. Player count makes such a big difference on a game experience. And yes maybe your taste developed over time as well. Again, I do like the rating distinction by player count here.
Hmm, I only played it once, with 4p. I didn't really enjoy it. The low scores I will likely still not enjoy, but I might try it again with 2 or 3p... Reminds me of how I played Agricola first with 5 players and no draft. :D
@@TheBrokenMeeple yeah.. and imagine that that was my first play. I avoided Agricola for ages, until I finally played it 2p with draft (and 3p and 4p as well with draft since then).
Look nice but 5 out of 15 choices, would destroy my game night because at least 2 are AP prone and every once and a while I will get a bout of AP. It looks pretty streamlined though.
I REALISED I FORGOT TO CHANGE THE TITLE BUT I'M NOT RE-UPLOADING! WE'LL ADD IT TO MY LIST OF BLOOPERS! :P YOU ALL KNOW WHAT YOU'RE HERE FOR ANYWAY! :P
One thing I really like about this game is the "bunch of game in a reasonable timeframe." Not too many Euro-y type games of this play length.
Great to hear you gave it another go and really enjoyed it at 1-3 player - absolutely deserves Distinction 👏🏼
I felt after 6 years it was time to revisit! :-)
Nice to see you revisit a game. I love seeing classics come back.
Me too!

2 player was the only way I would touch this originally.

Hmmmm, might need to be a sizable coffee table.
@@TheBrokenMeeple We were able to play Quacks of Quedlinburg 2p on it, so I'm hoping it's big enough.
Ah nice! I love this one- have only played it solo and 2 player. I’m actually eager to try with more- bring on the chaos 🙂
Have fun!

I have actually now played my friends copy 3 times, and yes I have enjoyed it! Will have to try to remember to talk about it on a future podcast.
@@TheBrokenMeeple oh, that's great! May I ask you about the player count?

Yeah I'm definitely keeping the player count details in , just wish I had some official logos for it.
My shirt!

Ugh 5 player Agr or Caver, not a fan!

It was fun for about 6 plays.
Luke, the video says Messina (Messiner, as you say!) @0:12 .
ARGH I FORGOT TO CHANGE THE TITLE!!
@@TheBrokenMeeple didn't even notice and had to actively search for that :D
@@TheBrokenMeeple And after you had to re-record due to audio! Well, thanks for the great videos. I know they are a lot of work.
one question... is there sheep? lol
No actually! :P Unless they are an easter egg.
