Floor Jansen , the queen from the Netherlands yesterday i was at her solo show in Tilburg in the Netherlands. She was fantastic, what a great voice and her new solo band played also great.

Always a joy to watch you and your guests Joel. This song was my first experience with Nightwish/Floor, I never looked back. They soon became my favorite band of all time, and that is saying something. I am 65, a classic rock guy that was just blown away with this Wacken 2013 performance...nothing I have ever seen comes close. Semper Fi 🤘🤘

Alice Cooper is the first concert I ever went to back in mid to early 70s so good, now I could be mistaken but somewhere I heard Alice Cooper played before nightwish but I could be mistaken that it was at this concert nightwish always great. God bless

I'm no musician, just like to strum an acoustic near the campfire once in a while, but I also listen to music with a stone face. It actually shows just how much immersed you can get and don't want to miss anything. I think that many reactions to the music are over the top. All the jumping and holding their heads or hiding it behind their palms, shocked faces... it comes of as artificial and dishonest.

Eric was completely wrong about NW NOT using back tracks: GLS is one big backtrack, where the band members have to adapt to, very difficult to perform, mistakes are not really possible. You can check yourself by comparing this version with a live version from Tarja times, only the last part is different because Floor changed it. Not convinced? Wings Of Pegasus did a very profound analysis of GLS😮
They were on a different stage, from what I understand. So, even if he was with Alice Cooper then, there's still a good chance he didn't see Nightwish perform
The Metal musicians or Metalheads i know would say Nightwish is crap or boring, or Metal is more a man's affair 😂 So, I don't even try to get them to listen to this band. 😅
If I were in his place, as a rocker who worked with Slash or Alice Cooper, I would definitely not be excited by Emppu's guitar solo in this song, which is compared to his great solos (Walking in the air, 7 Days To The Wolves or Romanticide, etc.) absolutely average, and I would not be impressed by the long pause in the middle, which somewhat weakens the resulting impression of drama and rhythm of this otherwise great song and makes it seem cheesy. A rocker who has never heard of Nightwish before can hear Floor's beautiful voice and excellent melodies in this song on the one hand, but on the other hand he has absolutely no chance to know Nightwish from the harder and more metal side and appreciate these qualities For this song, on the contrary, I would invite a voice expert who has worked with well-known singers. In my opinion, you again chose the wrong song for the music professionals you invite, and certainly not for the first time or for the last time on this channel.
I tend to agree, the reaction was underwhelming. But I would also say that he should know that shredding does not go with this song. He didn’t mention it. I assume Joel knows his guests a lot more than we do, but a little more tailoring appears to be in order
Thank you for your opinion, the main problem I see is that "Party Like a Rockstar Podcast" presents Nightwish songs to his guests not according to who the guests are but exclusively according to which songs he personally likes. So far, he knows very few songs from Nightwish and doesn't even know Tarja (I'm not talking about Anette here at all), his reaction is always like this. For example, it would be interesting to compare the qualities of Floor and Tarja, how both of them sing same songs beautifully but in a completely different style etc. Hopefully someday we will see a change in his approach to the whole thing.

It’s taken me about a year to go through it all. And I’m sure I’ve missed something. I actually found a live performance of Annette doing Slaying the Dreamer here on RUclips. The sound was decent and she was fabulous. My favourite performance of hers on anything. It really would be nice to have more varied reactions
