Democracy takes time. The majority has to decide which politicians are actually going to help Sri Lanka. At a time when so many are corrupt, this is impossible to do quickly. The infrastructure for everyone to vote has to be installed. You have to keep eye on the people responsible for said infrastructure. Make sure they don't have an agenda. You vote the wrong people in, and your back where you started. Then they say, "well that's who the people elected" This is the drawbacks of many violet protest. Look at French Revolution.
