I’ll never forget the re-creation of the shower scene from psycho in Trauma Towers, although thinking back they definitely just filled a bath full of red water and chucked a mannequin in it face down 😂 so nostalgic it makes me so happy ❤

I think the Fun House where you were in your stockingfeet is the amusement that I miss most at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, an indoor attraction that was not rebuilt after being destroyed by fire in the 1990s and Valhalla was built in its place. The Reel went way back in 1982, and more recently the Cable Cars, Log Flume, Monorail, Gold Mine, Octopus, Space Invader and finally Wild Mouse.

The much lamented Reel is probably my most missed ride there. I first caught sight of it on my inaugural family visit there in May 1972 on a very wet day via the monorail. It fascinated me and it took me ten years to return with a friend. Unbeknown to me in July 1982 it was to be its last season, during its 60th birthday too. If only I'd taken a second spin..... wonderful coaster I thought.

My first journey to Blackpool in 1993. Over the years we have lost so many amazing fantastic classic rides. My favourite rides have to be definitely the Water Chute or renamed later on as Vikingar, when Vallahalla was launched. Also a great favourite of my family and myself was the Log Flume. A great thrill seeking ride definitely has to be the popular Walls Spin Doctor. What is the most standing memory of Pleasure Beach Blackpool? Definitely the Gold Mine

My dad convinced the wild mouse operator to let my dad ride with my sister on his knee and me in front The seat belt didn't fasten and the operator sent it with the instruction to hold tight. I was rattled so bad I started to get lifted off the seat and I remember my dad grabbing my waste belt to hold me down. I was terrified and couldn't get back in. I finished the ride lying on the front with my legs jammed in by my dad's legs who was also holding my sister in one arm and my waste belt in his other. The look on the operator's face has stayed with me to this day. I was about 10yrs old and my sis was 6. I rode it when I was about 15 and it was the roughest coaster ever. I had bruised ribs and bleeding knees. I've never been on any coaster named mouse anywhere since.

I used to love the Turtle Chase as a little kid. Happy memories of Noah's Ark, monorail, log flume..all happy times in my childhood in the 70's and 80's.
The Gold Mine was my all time favourite BPB ride though. I never tired of it and last rode it not long before it closed. So sad it did.
As for the Wild Mouse, my back doesn't miss it!
One ride not on here is the Tokaydo Express. It was really exciting as a little kid although the last time I rode it when I was in my late teens they'd done something to it and it was insanely fast compared to normal.

@@Tripsngiggles Thanks. My dad and my cousin (thankfully I was too small) went on in the early 80's on the Phantom Chase (I think it was near the Grand National?). They said they were utterly terrified. My worst one was the Waltzer in the Dark. I went on it about 20 years ago and remember a young kid laughing his head off at me when I was leaving as I was ashen faced, feeling very ill.
What about the naff rides like the Haunted Swing or I think another dismal one was called Tom Sawyer's Raft?

It isn't a day out with out the Wild Mouse any more. I always remember as a kid we would get our White Knuckle tickets from the booth By the Derby Racers, but we had to buy separate ones for that ride as I believe that was classed as a D ride; and then we had a ritual. Start on those (as we were over that way anyway) then straight onto the Wild Mouse. It just wasn't a day out to Blackpool without the near death of the corners and the permanent back ache the next morning, that only the Wild Mouse could give you!

Excellent video, when a video like this is made and the comments are read, you realise how many rides have disappeared. Anybody remember ski jump or astro Twirl? the helicopters, boats, cars and the merry go round in the kids area? What about the Dodgem cars that were in the style of American Football players?
I cant agree with all your top 10. Bling was a horrid funfair ride that was totally out of place in BPB and I was not a fan of space invaders either! A shame they got rid of the goldmine especially when you consider that the ride that replaced it, Wallace and grommets Bore-o-matic, is on the same layout.

@@Tripsngiggles astro Twirl ( or whirl, swirl ) was the ride inside the dome (next to the goldmine ride). Massive wheel with a mesh wall that you stood against and as it got to speed it slowly turned 90° so all that was hold you in place was centrifugation, although you had a couple of grab handles and a chain going across. A good video but you did miss one of the most popular rides, in my opinion, which I greatly enjoyed in the early 1960s - The Whip! I think a lot of your subscribers will confirm this.

The video is my top 10. I was only born in the 80’s 🤣 never rode the whip unfortunately 🥹

Wild mouse was mega....what about the one I can't remember it's name it was near the Greatest show on earth and back entrance. Like a futuristic high speed train.

Wasn't the log flume replaced with Valhalla, that ride don't get you wet it gets you soaked. I miss wild mouse, But they saved a bit of it i sure last time i was there they had a portion saved with cars.

Icon now stands where the log flume once stood. I love Valhalla but would love to see a classic log flume / more water rides at the park! Yes they still have an old log flume car near Revolution! Thanks so much for watching!

There not for everone my son isnt as keen as me dad and his sis but uptill i was in late teens i hated coasters. Theres sooo many rides been and gone that were gd lucky worest one they had was only there for a year or 2 spin doctor that was on tom sawuer bridge that was bad. Not only broke down several in day was scary as shit and silly. Im guttered cant take my kids on some stuff like gold mine or noahs ark. Haunted swing isnt the same as wen was a stand alone ride. Im looking foward to video 2.

Wish they kept the ride Bling instead of what we have now with the red arrows, so boring. Never been on bling but looks so much better. Shame that some have gone like the gold mine, again Wallace and gromit is not a better ride. Log flume I wish was there but a good sacrifice as we get a water ride with Valhalla. And the space one I would have liked to go on again. I get some are done being attractions as the park needs updating with infusion 6 the excellent Icon. Still rides there that are long over due in replacing. Get rid of that Grand National, no fun at all, just gives you a back and neck ache.

@@stripeycat1970 I loved the Fun House in my grey stockingfeet, just wish it was still here today. The Reel went 40 years ago in 1982. Now we have lost the Wild Mouse.
