This brings back memories!! that machine was what i hit my first ever handpay on!! exactly what you hit. it was back when machines took and gave coins out. I had just got to the casino, it was my second or third pull. i was so new to slotting that when the lights and bells went off i thought I broke the machine. i had to look at it twice before i figured out what happened LOL. congrats on the nice hit!!!

It's experiences such as you describe that really put the hook in. My fondest 'gaming' memories are of using $1 tokens at Caesar's in Atlantic City, New Jersey, circa the summer of '92 and having really good luck initially. Hitting that 'Cash Out' button then scooping coins into buckets, trading those for ca$h and finally getting to wash my hands was a nice ritual. That process actually served as a sort of throttle or governor so that my gambling passions wouldn't become overheated.
I think I still have a bag ( of no doubt dried out) hand wipes they used to give out LOL. They had employees walking around with carts so you could buy the tokens and then big counter machines at the windows where you could( if you were lucky enough) bring your wheelbarrow full of winnings. I remember having to empty the tray at the bottom of the machines because the coins were getting jammed up, and fishing around hoping to find just one more coin when the luck turned!!
I recall those packets too and remember trying to crumble everything up neatly and stowing the trash in my pocket; this was a poor substitute for getting cleaned up in the men's room. Also recall there being the preference to either have the winnings drop straight through into the tray (or top hopper) or accumulate winnings as 'credits'. I'd cycle $20 through the $1 slot a single coin at a time then see where my credits were. I can't recall when I stopped seeing the converted, mechanical slot machines where the credit voucher would feed out into the top hopper where the coins used to flow out; probably at Caesar's in Atlantic City, NJ, or at the Showboat in the early-to-mid 2000s.
Same thing happened to me back then it was 15 cents max I got scared the first time I won 3 times that day.
