Lovely books. I, too, find inspiration in design books and magazines. Lately, I have been using my own scarves and tops and the color palettes found there.
Beautiful inspiration! Whenever you talk about texture, I can't help but notice your table that you're working on, the gorgeous texture and colors in the wood. Would be great to see a bit more of the table in one of your videos !
Thank you!! That wood texture is a vinyl backdrop I film on... it gets really dirty after a while and then I replace it with a nice new one. Not super fancy... but I do have pics of my studio area... I'll do a discussion on it and post it on the community tab and I was thinking of doing a studio tour video also - I just haven't gotten it done yet!! It is coming! ☺
I love every one of these. I too am a professional photographer (semi retired) and my photography and art making overlap often. Counting the minutes to the next video of yours…thanks so much for all you do.
Thank you for these ideas for inspiration. I never thought of interior design books or magazines for colour inspiration. I’m going to be checking out the decor section of the magazine displays in my local stores. Your videos are so diverse with so many wonderful ideas and approaches to making art.
Hi again! I’m marveling at all the things we have in common! I also come from an interior design background and I LOVE vintage pieces. One more reason your videos speak to me!
Wow! Gorgeous books! My background is photography and painted a lot of washed walls, ( and sponged. Don’t you judge me. Lol). I love texture too. I think that’s what’s missing in a lot of these white walled homes. TEXTURE! I love white walls now too. But throw some bits of color in with those neutrals. Your channel is a dream. I had no idea you were a photographer, and worked with interiors. I’ve been binge watching your channel, and painting till 3:00 AM every night. Lol. You probably already know Steve Mitchell’s channel, Mind of Watercolor ( awesome!). And Karen Rice..she’s a texturey watercolor artist girl too. Sorry so long…. 👍🎨🖌🤗🙏🏻. Messy Mendy
@@mendyhand3895 I did faux finished on walls years ago too! That's too funny... I love texture... photography... art.. so many things.. so glad you are here! Thank you 🥰
I loved your books. As you were flipping through them it had me thinking about some of mine and how they inspire me in my art. I visited an anthropology museum once that had all these glass covered drawers full of ancient artifacts and ever since then I’m always drawn to books that show that type of imagery. And books showing old places, ancient temples and things built long ago from stone, caverns and ancient runes etc. And then right next to that I have quirky things like a typesetters reference book, a book all about the human hand, and those books they put out from advertising every year; books about things like pop art, ceramics, photography, and museum guide books. I love books so much because it’s just super crazy eclectic inside my mind and having the visual references for things is how I kind of stay on track. Thanks for a really inspirational video 🌸💖
My wish list is getting longer😍. Love these books Denise, thank you for sharing. Hearing your wonderful enthusiasm and listening to your creative professional work and watching you create your abstracts, have you ever thought about creating your own book displaying your beautiful photographs of still life, art supplies etc, with your inspired abstract pieces alongside them? I appreciate you don’t sell your art and such a project would be a huge undertaking but a book cataloguing both of your creative skills would be amazing 🤩. Just a thought 🤔🙏🏻🥰🙏🏻
A book of my work would be so amazing, and definitely something I’ve got on my wish list. We’ll just have to see! So glad you enjoyed these! Thank you! 🥰
I’m so inspired by your videos, art and tips and seeing the glorious pages in these books has got me so motivated to make art…. and spend $200 buying 2 of Sibellas books❤❤😊.
"A feast for the eyes" is exactly what these books are. Much appreciated.
Thank you! 🥰
