Ralfy, big thanks for a great MasterClass. Proud is what you should be...nothing else like it on the RUclips.

On behalf of myself and the malt mates and maidens around me in Québec City, I thank you Ralfy. I am organizing wee informal masterclasses (up to my 5th in 6 months so far) and I sprinkle your knowledge in them to entertain the crowd :D

    Well done, sir!
One thing you might put on the list for a future video: food pairings! Particularly cheese; the wine snobs are spoiled for advice, but there's very little information out there on pairing cheese with spirits!

Excellent! Entertaining and to the point. Cuts through lots of the stuff that is, quite frankly, BS when some people talk about whisky. :-)

I was wondering if the best of the best scotches come from the casks that have matured the best of the best sherry, bourbon, etc.

You did mention a while ago you would address nosing kits. I would appreciate your thoughts on these kits and their use and value if you have the time Ralphy.

A couple of Googlings after the lesson:
acrospire - the 1st nub of a sprout from the malted grain
Bohemian - (Wiki)- "Bohemians were associated with unorthodox or anti-establishment political or social viewpoints, which were often expressed through free love, frugality, and voluntary poverty."
Progressing on, I've just finished off my bottle of Jura 16yo, and will pull the cork of a Rosebank 19yo as soon as I hit the post button....will report back with a review of Rosebank, maybe.

    Hey there Ralfy,
I'm a hobby woodworker and I know there are many different sorts of wood that smell and look as rich as oak ofr example ceder or beech. But why Does it always seems whisky and other alcoholic beverages like wine, genever etc. ripe on oak and not on other sorts of wood ? It keeps me wondering. Keep on malting !

@ralfystuff just meant to be a bit of self depricating humour, my friend. I suppose that alcohol will increase the audible volume of a room in most cultures! :)

I tend to tell people to go in moderation at first and then we use no more than half of an ounce per glass. hope this helps :)

RE: the statement about getting loud and interrupting: So what you are saying is that at a whisky master class, after a few drinks, everyone attending turns into Americans? lol. :)
