Nice explainer, thanks. It looks like there's an extension being built, from Luceros to the main station, making the journey even easier.

I did this very journey twice. Once in the 1980s when it was still heavy rail, and recently with the train/tram service. A wonderfully scenic route both times.

While it seems to be a smooth operation Andy, Alicante is way behind Valencia when it comes to transport interchange.
Furthermore, ALC airport is larger and busier than VLC airport yet it relies on buses to take passengers to the centre of Alicante. Whereas VLC airport has the metro station beneath the airport which takes passengers to the Xativa metro station located immediately outside Valencia Nord RENFE station.
It's also frustrating that passengers must change at Benidorm to reach Denia aboard another tram.
My preferred location is Gandia reached by a RENFE train on Iberian gauge. None of this faffing around with trams.
Nonetheless, I appreciate the time and effort you put in to making this very useful video.

Is it easy to get from Gandia to Denia?

@@DiscoverByRail Unfortunately not. Franco did a Beeching in the 60s and ripped up the line between the two towns. There's been constant talk about reinstating the missing link but nothing has happened.

@@Eurobazzyou despise them as "just trams", but some of the trainsets (such as the one on the right heading for Dénia at 3:27) are actually old FEVE narrow gauge trains, bought second-hand by Tram Alacant. As the Tram network operates 1000 mm gauge, they are compatible with their tracks.
So, in reality, the Tram network is more like a narrow gauge interurban railway that serves the coastal towns of the entire Alacant province. And narrow gauge railways usually mean slower trips and smaller trains.
I do agree though that having to change trains at Benidorm to go to Dénia is an inconvenience.
