You can't find breakpads in Germany. 😱
I'm looking to outsource from China.
I'm glad you liked the video.

@@NotSoBurundian Yeah Bike-components is out of stock for the pads I need. I´m in the lucky Position where Bike-Components has a physical shop nearby but they can't get them.
Yeah it´s interesting how supply shortage and different location affect part availability. Its always interesting to learn new things.

Oh and I shared your video link on reddit. I think this video is quite interesting for a few more people.

@@TheDeviltech over here it's more like I live in a country where sports cycling isn't really a thing. And so components of modern mountain, gravel and road bikes are hard to comeby if at all they're available.
Oh and I appreciate you sharing the link.

Don't pull the cables to adjust the brakes, or do anything else with them. There is a screw on the spoke side of the brake that brings the caliper closer to the rotor.

I’m not a bike mechanic, but have some experience in bike racing. Don’t replace the rotors, they last for thousands of kilometers and will outlast many brake pads. You can adjust the tension in the cables and maybe center the brakes (slightly unscrew the calipers, put a business card between rotor and the pads on both sides, press and hold the brake while screwing caliper back in) so the would wear more equally (and buy you more time between pads changes). The cleaner the chain, the longer it will last and the longer the sprockets etc will last. You may want to look into degreasers (white spirit, 99% alcohols etc) and do a weekly chain clean if you want to keep it as long as you can. If really cannot find any spare chains, you can try chain waxing, it will give you an extra 1000km, but it’s a lot of work in maintenance.
