    Absolutely amazing!
    Gives me This Old House and New Yankee Workshop vibes. Remember sitting on the couch watches those guys all the time and thinking how cool that must be to be able to build stuff! Wood work of any kind has always been a huge love of mine to watch! No one I knew did it or really had those tools, so I never got to build so much as a birdhouse growing up.
    All that to say I love when your videos drop, and they really do inspire me to craft things in the garage.
    Was able to finally learn a little from all these youtube videos ppl like you make and was able to actually build my first grandson's crib a couple years back and am about to start on another one for my other daughter. Such a wonderful hobby especially when you hope something you make might be in a great grandchild's home one day for their kid!
    Take care bud!

    14:50 in Poland this tradition (and the thing) is called "Wiecha" (generally a word meaning a bunch of flowers, herbs and so on). Sometimes it is substituted for (or accompanied by) a symbol of carpentry insignia: saw and hammer.

    Well I'm in Canada, but I totally wanna take a class like this. I found a school in my province and am hopeful for the fall class. Do you get many women in your classes? I don't mind being the only one, as long as they'll take me.

    What type of joint was used to connect the truss to the top of the wall? Mortise and tenon? I would love to attend your class but it a carpenter and don’t have much time off. Have a great day

      The engineers require large structural GRK screws to secure the truss the the rafter plate.

    I am interested in building a timber frame house in the next year. I have a sawmill and I’ll cut my own timber. I just need a contractor and crew to cut and erect the building. Can yall do that? Or do you know of a crew? I’m in North GA

  • @jmonsted
    @jmonsted 4 месяца назад

    Now you just need to cover it in OSB and PU foam and leave it to rot like a certain other shelter institute collab 😅
    Nah, this is great work, i look forward to seeing what you do with it!

      I know there is a bunch of controversy with them. Not sure the whole story but definitely not letting this sit and rot. It’s a TON of work but chipping away every day!

    Looks like a blast! Did you get to use any of the timbers you had them cut on the mill, or do those need to dry for a future course?
