Hello, a great bunch of people who want to work with their hands and get great joy from it. Beautiful, I wish you all the best and I applaud you guys..thanks
Großartig.Echtes Handwerk.Ich habe in meiner Kindheit einen Drechslermeister gekannt, der noch über Transmissionsscheiben mit Riemenantrieb gearbeitet hat.
The sound of hand tools shaping those logs into beautiful timbers has got to be the most satisfying sounds in the world. Beautiful work . After seeing some of your first videos I started buying and restoring old timber framing tools so someday I could build a small cabin on my property in northern Michigan but life happened and I am now permanently disabled, so I watch you . God Bless from Detroit Michigan.
Dear Chris, your comment touched the depths of our hearts. You give us the reason and purpose of doing what we love. And the connection to the traditional craftsmanship is something more than just technique and tools, it leads us back to the roots, back to the tradition of handwork, where soul was still connected to the rhythms of nature and creating something that will outlast you many times was just normal. God Bless you in all your paths and we’ll keep you updated with more to watch.
The course is designed for anyone from 16 years old to eternity. The old timberframer Peter from Canada actually reminded us Clint Eastwood, a very photogenic gentleman he is, but also a great carpenter!
being barefoot isn't going to let you grip wood good enough to prevent an injury. it's because he's a very skilled woodworker. if it was safer, he wouldn't point out that the students weren't allowed to be barefoot
It’s when you have nice flat surface. When you have to snap the lines on a round log, you have to tension and raise it high enough, so the force can mark the entire highs and lows of a natural timber. It doesn’t matter how high you pull the chalk line, it just has to be straight, so that’s why it’s best if one guy draws the string and the other one eyeballs and helps correct the angle before snapping.

I think life had a greater sense of purpose in the olden days, when people had to cooperate and work together physically. Maybe a solution for todays loneliness epidemic?

Da igual, hacer eso descalzo, no aporta nada.

Takes a bit longer when done by ourselves.
When I work with heavy sharp tools, I always wear shorts and go barefoot. Dude!!! You're killin' me!
Respect! BRAVO! A bow to the very ground for your carpentry craft!
The hand hewing is so satisfying. ❣️

Parabéns vocês são os melhores . Fico feliz quando tem video para assistir 👏👏👏
Beautiful work!!
Most of the older people look very competent, I was wondering who this course is designed for, I would have expected a lot more youngsters.
At home playing video games.😂😂

Ideally, you pull a chalk line up 2 inches at the most. Any higher than that your line will be off.
Really impressive. I'm wondering if the pins used to lock assemblies are in really in Steel? Usually we use hard wood pins.
These are only temporary pins that we use while we work on the frame. We use oak pegs when doing the final assembly. Thank you for asking!
I can smell the wood chips!
Was yall listening to freebird at 8:00
My guess is that these houses might endure for a few years…

Si estas impartiendo un curso, me parece una irresponsabilidad que hagas ese trabajo descalzo.
