Yes you can but it's impedance must below permissible range. Single pair cable may work for shorter distance. No issue.
Profibus cables have low impedance and dedicated for much longer distance communication.

Profibus,profinet and Ethernet me diffence bataye

Profibus follows RS485 transmission protocol, while Ethernet and profile are the same and follows to/ip protocol. But profinet dedicated for industrial purpose and uses sofisacated network components such as switch, hub etc but uses commercial tcp/ip protocol

Configure areawise branch of profibus and number of DI/DO/AI/AO card as per your plant requirement.
Then finally go to hardware configuration of your DCS system and keep on adding profibus communication card and Input output cards.
Follow above procedure for other profibus branch
