For the cabinet that can be floating on the wall, that is fine. I think some cabinets like that are light enough to be hung on the wall. But if it can be floated in the middle of the room, I think that is a real weird.😄
The main difference is that casework can be seen above the cut plane, in the View Range. They are also shown different on floor plans as you said. Casework include wall cabinets which are often raised up from the floor. On the other hand Most of the furniture elements are hosted directly on the floor.
