- As always, this sixth in the series of our Open Dial events is a unique and exclusive opportunity for our members, and this time we’re journeying to Ireland, to go behind the scenes at Sidereus.
Established in 2019, Sidereus watches are designed and hand-built in Ireland using modified Swiss-Made automatic movements. With inspiration drawn from the prehistoric mystery of the British Isles their inaugural collection, Brú na Bóinne, shares its case architecture with the Neolithic grand passage tomb of Newgrange. Built around 3,200BC, Newgrange predates the Egyptian pyramids and Bryan Leech will reveal how its story is bound into the creation of horology.
In addition to the tour, there will be a live Q&A hosted by Michael Clerizo, an American writer specialising in horology. For twenty years he has written about watches and clocks for The Wall Street Journal including three years as a columnist for the Journal's Off-Duty section. He is currently a contributing editor for WSJ. Magazine. His work has also appeared in many horological magazines and websites. Michael is the author of two books: Masters Of Contemporary Watchmaking and George Daniels: A Master Watchmaker And His Art.
We hope you enjoy this exciting behind the scenes event with Bryan Leech, which is generously sponsored by A Collected Man. Please click here to find out more about them.
