- The first ever Cascadia psychedelic Convergence took place in Molalla Oregon on June 14-16th, 2024. This is a fungi-centered event, held by Mycena productions, on a 200 acre plot of wilderness in West-Central Oregon known as the Trout Creek Wilderness Preserve. About 120 guests and some of the greatest mycology minds converge for a weekend of workshops, food, friends and fun. I had the pleasure of going and documenting my personal experience there and I am bringing this documentary to you.
I was excited to hang out with some great mushroom scientists like Alan Rockefeller, Jordan Jacobs, Jack cyan, Jess Starwood, Mandie Quark, Sidnee Obersingleton, Jordan Weiss, William Padilla Brown, Dusty Rose Miller, and many many more.
I got to go on a couple of forays with Alan Rockefeller, have some great conversations on film with William Padilla Brown, get henna type skin dye from Sidnee, eat some excellent food and make some great connections.

We will not accept any responsibility for negligence or accidental ingestion of poisonous mushrooms or plants. These videos are not intended to be a definitive field guide, but rather a starting point to become familiar with habitat, Everyone is encouraged to do their own studies, acquire literature or internet resources to safely and confidently identify wild foods before they eat them. When eating a new wild mushroom, it is advised to start with only a small amount, and make sure that it is fresh and that it is cooked thoroughly. Some mushrooms do not agree with certain individuals, and this is typically discovered on a case-by-case basis. Even the most edible of mushrooms contain compounds that can be tough for the human digestive tract to handle. Some “edible” species have small amounts of certain toxins that will easily break down with cooking. Fungi contains a molecule known as chitin that is the same thing that makes the exoskeleton of shellfish so hard, and cannot be broken down by the human digestive system, so it is another good reason to thoroughly cook mushrooms. All the ideas expressed in the comments should be taken with a large grain of salt. I don’t think there is any other field of study or science that has more misinformation being shared so freely and boldly. Mushroom Wonderland and Aaron himself have no opinion and neither encourage nor discourage the use of mushrooms containing mind-altering compounds. These mushrooms contain powerful chemicals and should be treated with a high level of responsibility. Any video topics on the habitat, natural distribution, and morphological features of psychoactive mushrooms portrayed on this channel are purely for scientific and educational purposes.

Awesome convention! Thanks for sharing the journey 🙏
We really need to remove the stigma around psilocybe / psychoactive mushrooms. They have so much potential in a lot of areas of mental health. I think a "family friendly" channel that approaches it in a mature and scientific fashion would be a great help. Thanks for posting this video. 🙂
Yo big UPS brother
Keep up the good work... fished the Molalla river 100 times.. live near Stayton Or...
how was I not informed this event existed??? that looks awesome!
I think it said it was the first annual event. So that's probably why you haven't heard of it, maybe?
It looked like a lot of fun though, what an awesome venue they picked to have it though!
very cool event! I think I would be overwhelmed trying to absorb as much as I could lol. Those UV temp tattoos are the coolest thing Ive ever seen, Im pretty envious
Excellent content as always! Thanks Aaron.
Thanks for this video.
Watch ur channel hella
Peace aaron have beautiful days 📸🌈🍄☮️
seeing that you uploaded really does make a day 10000000x better
Excellent video Aaron, you really captured the vibe of the event and you got to speak with some of the coolest people in the game, so dope! One day I need to get out to one of these festivals in the woods, just gotta push through the social anxiety.
Good review and it was nice to meet you. 😊 I had to skip Sunday but I was giving side eye from afar when applicable lol
Haha that was hilarious.
Alan is awesome, but I would refute his assertion that you can't do anything about English ivy. We always take a few moments to pull it out by the roots and pile it in sunlight. You can also just sever it at the base of a tree that it is climbing and save the tree. Going back to the same forest year over year we can see huge changes with minimal effort.
Keep up the good work, wish more people would spend the time to be at service to ecosystems that they reap abundance from. To much take not enough give going on. That 'can do' attitude is everything
Soo true. Every little bit helps No matter how small
I completely agree with you! I am always chopping it up at the base of trees anywhere I go. It's so crazy how thick some of the stems can become over time!
One more thing I would like to add to your list of things you can do about English ivy, and that is organize an Ivy pulling community event (but, of course, call it a party because that way more people will show up if you do... because who doesn't love a party?) Now just identify problem areas in your neighborhood and pick those spots to throw the parties! Bonus points for providing lunch, like pizza or something, to the volunteers!
Thanks Aaron
Looked like a fun Time Aaron. The last nite was typical west coasters haha. Thank ya bro
@5:03 that face is priceless! 😄
I would really love to go to something like that one day
Great video Aaron! Keep up the great work 🍄
had to rewind a couple times to make sure but he said "plandemic"...
It sure was!!!
All planned
So what God you guys are OBSESSED
It was indeed.
@jasongarcia2140 So what?? You don't care if the government that takes your tax dollars and gives them to giant corporations for their profit and tell you lies and forces you to obey their commands. You don't have any issues with that???
@@timbillings6884your conception wasn't
Great video, much love from Pennsylvania!!!
They seam to work similar to hypnosis. It's another way to guide our subconscious to a place that can be reprogrammed to help stop smoking or drinking. Among many other things to improve your life and health.
Thanks for documenting the convergence so well! i really wanted to attend but the dates conflicted with other plans.
My kinda people.

What's not family friendly about psychedelics?
💯👍👍🍄🧄
20:15 did he say PLANDEMIC. Oh noooo William lol.
He did, what's you're point in pointing that out?
Shame that these are always so full of weird hippy pseudoscience
You could always take what you want and leave the rest 🍄❤️🤙
Yup. Main thing that keeps me away from those gatherings. Psychedelics are poison for people with already bad critical thinking skills.
Apparently you were never taught the golden rule as a child, so I will go ahead and teach it to you. It goes like this: if you can't say something nice, then don't say anything at all. Period.
@@jennak.8541 Not period. What you are saying applies to innate characteristics, art some one has created, things that have no negative impact. I will absolutely push back against BS pseudoscience and irresponsible psycology advice by a bunch of wooks.
@@Not_Qwake Very obviously I am talking about in the context of a situation like this. That is common sense and anyone who would be watching this video, I would think, would be old enough to understand this. Very simple stuff. In this situation, if you don't have something nice to say, then just shut up. There is no value in what you have to say if what you have to say is that you think these people are a bunch of weird hippies, or pseudoscientists blah blah blah.
That's much different then someone who is critiquing an art piece or a dish that they are eating ect ect.
I notice Mandie Quark's heart-shaped earrings. I have spent a year cultivating heart-shaped hybrid fungi ..the reason trees, plants and ferns are pink, red and purple this year. I made sure to share, I FELT certain, foragers and property owners will be excited to find them. The next step, an early version, hybridised with Psilocybe ovoideocystidiata. I tried the Ovoid parent stems, 0.3 grams was enough for me, to enjoy their effect the first time (intending heart-shaped caps to find, spring, summer and fall).
Where do you spread them at?
Very good, fun, and informative video! Almost like being there! I did not know scorpions could be found in west Oregon!
