    Love the flea🦗 market scene, especially the tools. That Dizzy 💫Doodler is the star find and reminds me of the16th century German astronomer Johannes Kepler, who made countless models to try to replicate planetary tracks across the sky. He was using circular motion to no avail and much disatisfaction, untill one day he tried the ellipse. Back to the Dizzy Doodler, 🦆it was a time when some amazing childrens toys were made. 🐸

    Glad you had a good weekend John, it's amazing the variety of those insulators, I particularly like the Purple/Lilac ones ! Lots of interesting stuff at Elephants Trunk, I knew you'd zoom in on that Cockpit, I liked the Kendall grease tin dispenser, that expansive bit was a bargain, I have a couple that came in a little wooden box with a slide in lid. The Dizzy Doodler is Epic, it looks way more fun than a Spirograph - they used to drive me nuts - the pens were always poor so didn't leave a consistent line and if you pressed hard to try to get a good line you'd knock the pins out and ruin the design !

    Just a comment about the axe, and I am no expert, but many axes and even knives have hardened cutting edges. On some, you can see the line where the different materials have been forged together to make a stronger, more durable cutting edge. The wrap-around edge on that axe is something I have not seen, but it like it was factory installed on the video. Thanks. And I want one of the doodlers. LOL

    • @Marcel_Germann
      @Marcel_Germann 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@ScoutCrafter You can only calibrate the zero. The rest is defined by the meter movement. And the resistors and their quality. These meters have a tolerance, how much depends on the mechanical quality of the meter itself and the tolerances of the resistors they used inside. The resistors in there are usually not the conventional resistors we know from microelectronics, they look more like coils. Usually wrapped bifilar on an insulator core to reduce the AC frequency impact on the measurement.
      I've seen 1%, 1.5%, 2.5% of the end of scale value, so in that case the 250V is 100%. Such meters have the most exact value in the last third of the scale.

    While at the insulator show did you ask how to clean the gray compound that is inside some of the insulators?

    I have to say, I never understood the love affair some people have with glass insulators, mainly because they have no practical use to the average person! Nice video though.

    For a show you felt was thrown together it was one of your best. Loved the Dizzy Doodler. I remember giving a Spirograph to my kids many Christmases ago but this thing is really super. Your enthusiasm for the items you find and restore is what makes your shows so interesting. Keep up the good work!

    OMG... I never knew a show like this existed. I would be 100% broke after buying all of those Blue insulators. I have got to find one of these shows near me.
