Museum of Glass starter Niko Dimitrijevic earned his BFA at New York’s Alfred University in 2004 and has been working in glass ever since with artists including Randy Walker, Ross Richmond, William Morris and Karen Willenbrink-Johnsen. Dimitrijevic joined the Museum of Glass Hot Shop team in 2010.
During his residency, Dimitrijevic will create both experimental and installation-focused works of art that catalog certain personal memories. Originally from Detroit, MI, Dimitrijevic has found himself living in a number of industrial cities that have shaped the aesthetic of his artwork. The narrative of memories and industrial decay will play a large role in Dimitrijevic’s residency, and in November 2015 he will exhibit some of the work created during his residency in a group show at the Schack Art Center.
