Hi, is there a way how to keep the outline in my text layer? When I pre-compose the layers and set the Blending mode to screen the outline disappears from the text.
would be nice if the background was transparent... do you have another one with transparent background? i tried to make it as screen.. but it only works if you add a background to it.. i want it to be without background :(

screen? SCREEN?! smoke isnt supposed to emit licht, screen is an additive blending mode so you're actually lighting the smoke up. smoke and fog need there own transparency, you can accomplice that by using the "shift channels" effect and then applying a fill to make it bigger again, you will lose some of the detail this way so you could use fractal noise to get the detail back. i do understand this is an beginner tutorial but maybe this helps someone...
Thanks.. I was able to get this done but I can't export it out with a transparent background. It starts in transparency before exporting for a couple seconds then goes away when the opacity is counting from 0 to 100. I tried rendering it RGB + Alpha and it didn't work. I didnt use your backgound.

@@JohnM-sz2vh It's been a long while since I've tried but I had some success with the particle generator in AE, . You just have to change the size of the particles and the gravity. There should be some YT turotials. There are also some good AE plugins that will generate smoke that you can find with a search. And if all else fails grab some alpha keyed stock footage smoke. Good luck to you!
@@DMTayag Thanks. I've tried a few different ways, even with "Trapcode Particular" but not completely happy. The presets are mostly for small smoke point uses such as cigarette smoke, smoking gun barrel and such, but i did not have much luck getting large area whispy smoke like for a burning pile of ruble.

You just need to add a hue effect and change the white white color to wanted color

You'll need to change the blending mode to Screen, and that will remove the black background.
