    that works! but i’ve had so much struggles with Ghost text effect, cause i copied it wrong. Don’t copy it as Cmnd+C and Cmnd+V, but press Cmnd+D, then it’ll copy everything right, hope it was helpful for someone ✨

    Subscribed! This will be very useful on a project I'm working on. There were some bits of the tutorial where I had to look for a couple of steps you hadn't mentioned and do a little guesswork or looking in the comments like for the graph editor not being set to a speed graph by default but most of it was easy enough to follow. I would imagine someone who is completely new to After Effects should follow some tutorials to familiarize themselves with the interface first but overall, this was a very useful tutorial and I'm looking forward to checking out more of your content.

    Really quick to help anyone out. The graph editor part is way to fast. Mine doesn't seem to be on your settings somehow. Idk explain it better

    • @MotionGraphicsandCheese
      @MotionGraphicsandCheese  6 месяцев назад +2

      It might be because your graph editor is set to value and not speed, like mine. If you enter the graph editor, and look at the bottom, there are a lot of buttons. If you click on the second one that looks like a box, a list appears. Select the one that says speed graph.

    for some reason, the wipe is not working for me. i have the source layer set to noise distortion but the text just fades uniformly

    • @MotionGraphicsandCheese
      @MotionGraphicsandCheese  3 месяца назад +1

      Hm, did you set it to look at not just the source layer, but also at the masks and effects of that layer?

  • @ParanormalHuntTV
    @ParanormalHuntTV 6 месяцев назад

    Why when I select the graph editor mine doesn't end up lookin like the scale at all...my first point is all the way up to 110...

    • @MotionGraphicsandCheese
      @MotionGraphicsandCheese  6 месяцев назад

      Of you are talking about the text in the beginning of the video, then it makes sense. At the start of the timeline i set the scale to 90 and at the end to 110 so it animates between those 2 values

  • @thatguydj2993

    I have a hard time with the 2:47-2:58 part. Can you break it down a little?

    • @MotionGraphicsandCheese
      @MotionGraphicsandCheese  9 месяцев назад

      Sure. The text part where i write "time*30"?
      Its called an expression, which is just a small piece of code that affects a property. In this case im asking it to look at the current "time" and multiply it by 30. And this updates the value of that property, so for each second, it adds 30.
      Did that make sense?

    i just want to say thank you !! and i want to ask you pls , i can see you r man for the job.... i am very impressed by the intro and autro of "the continental " tv show can you help with ideas how it was created ..like something close to analyse it for us ,,i know you make tutorials very good tho ...i want to be like you when i grow up - but can you pls pls help with the question how this was made ....

    • @MotionGraphicsandCheese
      @MotionGraphicsandCheese  11 месяцев назад +1

      My pleasure! 👍 Sure;
      I can see that they use a lot of alpha/luma mattes (masking based on transparency or brightness values) with videos/stock footage, a lot of tint (color remaping) effects on inverted contrast (white becomes black, and vice versa), some 3d elements and scenes, like the bullets, coins and the car scene. Most of this look is achieved by creative color remaping, to create a graphic look. And they are mindfull of transitions matching the movement of previous scenes, making shots more smooth and reactive.
      Does this help?
      I can probably do a video on doing something similar at some point. Could be fun.
      Ps. I would recommend not growing up too much. Stay young at heart and curious.

    Whats he even saying in the beginning? How do you get to the end of the keyframe? What does he press? When I click end it doesn't do anything....

    • @MotionGraphicsandCheese
      @MotionGraphicsandCheese  6 месяцев назад

      To cycle between keyframes you kan press j (previous keyframe) and k (next keyframe). Page up and page down allows you to move the timeline cursor 1 frame forward or back respectively.
      Home and end takes the timeline cursor to the start or end of the composition respectively

  • @ParanormalHuntTV
    @ParanormalHuntTV 6 месяцев назад +4

    None of this works....you go way to fast to explain anything. Not for beginners at all. Half of what you explain doesn't even make sense....you're expecting everyone to already know how to use this program. What's the point of teaching if you're gonna act like everyone knows it already? Slow down, say your words right. Then it might make sense.

    • @MotionGraphicsandCheese
      @MotionGraphicsandCheese  6 месяцев назад

      Hey, thanks for the feedback! You are probably right that this is above beginner level. It can be hard to remember that people who arent familiar with the program, dont know all the words.
      If it helps, i would recommend watching tjis video first, where i try to explain individual parts of after effects:

    @Motion, Graphics and Cheese - The instruction ityself was great, but you need to get a better pop filter or adjust your gate.
    I.e. Your essessss are really pronounced.
    Viewers will tolerate some graphical issues, but the human brain revolts/retreats from elements like bad audio becasue its a physical thing like finger nails on a chalk board, which means they prolly won't return for further videos.

    • @MotionGraphicsandCheese
      @MotionGraphicsandCheese  Год назад

      Hey, thanks! Yeah, I know, I'm trying to get a better setup. I've been using a pop filter in the new videos, and adding more de-esser to my voice. I've been going through some audition tutorials to improve it. If you have any additional tips or can refer me to some good tutorials, I would appreciate it.
      True, that's why horror films can have crappy image quality, but the sound still needs to be good. Thanks for the feedback!

      Its hard to be informative and entertaining at the same time. And purely informative videos can easily become stale and hard to follow, since its a huge info dump. Although its good to know that i dont explain everything; ill try to get better at that. 👍
