Yeah, you either hit hard or practically not at all. Feels bad sometimes, but when you get it right, it reminds you pretty well why she’s awesome. Farore’s Wind is still one of my favorite moves in the game just for how low its kill percentage is.

This should open up a lot of off-stage options for Zelda at the competitive Smash level. Considering that Zelda was bottom tier in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS, hopefully these additional options can help make her more competitively viable. Zelda’s Phantom Summon (Down B) now slowly builds behind her as she charges it. There are four levels to the Phantom Summon, each dealing more and more damage. The full-strength Phantom Summon is unleashed after a small delay. This allows Zelda to approach and set up for combos in the small time frame before the Phantom Knight attacks.

Kinda like Ganon, a lot of the satisfaction and fun of the character is because she's bad, not despite it. I'd still prefer if they buffed her though lol
She's a solid bottom 5 imo. Her mobility, neutral, projectiles and survivablity are all among the worst; she lacks favourable hitboxes and sometimes (usually due to the stages) even a decent recovery. She has great OoS options, a strong grab game and and combos, good kill power and a 50/50, but she's still a very bad character with minimal representatin and results
Zelda is probably the best example of a glass cannon in the entire Smash series. She hits really hard and can KO at low percentages. However, her attacks need precision and missing them leaves her wide open. She's also pretty light hence why she's always so low on the tier list.

Taylor Galloway tbh, when bringing up Zelda those seem to be the only things people bring up. Nobody seems to bring anything else up because they don’t know how to use or know anything about the character. As a Zelda main, I’m not saying she a secret top or high tier, but she doesn’t deserve to be Bottom 3. ESAM places her in Low Tier in his Tier List & I feel like that’s the most appropriate place to put her
NixUniverse While I dislike your argument of “They just don’t know how to use the character,” I’ll agree that she’s more low tier than bottom tier. She has good kill power and decent low percent combos, but she’s fairly slow and acts more like an awkward zoned a lot of times. Her recovery is stupidly punishable, and Din’s Fire is kinda trash. It can also be Wave Bounced for efficient spacing, & B Reversed to mix up your landing against characters like Cloud & Fox who she can have difficulties landing against. It’s also good for edge guarding characters who’s UpB’s don’t Snap to the ledge like Ike, Shulk, & Cloud.

People see Zelda so rarely they forget Farore’s Wind. Then again, unlike Din’s Fire, it WAS totally optional in Ocarina of Time.
