Great video my man. I have a tentative Air Force OTS date of next Spring. Being a young black male, I enjoy watching other young black guys making great accomplishments in their field. Keep up the good work, LT.
Hey, I’m a fellow wildcat and would be completing ROTC through UCF to commission through. I just wanted to say congratulations and thanks for the content.
Appreciate the tips. I am Direct Commissioning into the Army Reserves as a Logistics Officer. Did you meet anyone that went through the Direct Commission path at BOLC?
Direct comission for Logistics???? How can I get that? I have 10+ years running global supply chains for fortune 500 companies .. never heard of this. I know of direct for medical, legal, and chaplains ... but Logistics????
“If you declare with your mouth “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9). Now is the time to accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior. Obey His commands and repent of your sins because Jesus is coming back soon. Tomorrow isn’t promised.
We go to field training between our sophomore and junior years. Then whatever ur afsc (mos) is, you go to respective training usually after you get to your first duty station lol.
@@shasha9264 BOLC is about 6 weeks of all professions of the Army Medical Department together, then each specialty has a track, most specialties are 2 weeks, but veterinarians have a 5 week track, for example. So I comes out to 8 weeks or 2 months, depending on how long your specialty's track is at the end
@@shasha9264 the estimated expenses. So when I went to BOLC I had the expense of driving across the country, which I later got reimbursed for. They gave me like 1600. I had to report to my unit prior to BOLC, so I had to stay in a hotel until I I was allowed to look for an apartment. I eventually got reimbursed for that also. The 2 weeks was like $860, because i stayed in a cheep hotel and I got reimbursed about 1100 I think. Later however, i had to stay in a hotel until I found a place to live for my duty station, and that was $400 or so, and I didn't get reimbursed. When I rented my house, I had to pay the first month's rent and the security deposite, so that was a lot. My landlord gave me a discount on the security deposit because of being military. I had to move to my new duty station, so that was an expense. The Army has things in place to help you get a moving company or reimburse you to hire a moving company and they have storage for you belongings while you're in training, but I didn't know how to access all that and I didn't have that much stuff, so I gave away to family or donated my bulky items and loaded the rest of my possessions into my car and drove to my training. Then when I set up my house, that was an expense to buy a new bed ($750), a new used couch ($500), a coffee table ($200), and other furniture and goods for the house. I think i bought 2 really nice used dressers for about $300 each. I bought a used washer and dryer for $550. It becomes a lot of money fast. But the nice thing about setting up your house is you can wait until you have the money. It just might be very inconvenient to not have those things. I got some rugs from the Habitat for Humanity home store and some other things. I couldn't buy much from them because they don't have delivery service, so you have to have a truck or van to transport if you want to buy a new mattress from them or a nice used table, or whatever large item. But there are many ways you can save a lot of money. I checked out Facebook marketplace for furniture too. The Army has an advanced pay program, so they will basically give you a loan if you ask for it when you first arrive, and they slowly take it back from your paychecks over like a year or something. I decided not to do that because I had enough In savings and I just waited to buy things for my house until I got paid and reimbursed for the money I spent in reimburseable things. Your budget will depend on your needs.
Yeah but it all depends if you’re PCS or TDY. TDY no you gotta stay in the hotel PCS then yeah you can move or because you’re probably gonna be there more a year or longer
I have a friend that will be going to EBOLC from Apr-Sept. They are curious about taking a college class or two online during the summer months of BOLC do you think that would be possible?
Melissa the entire time you’ll be given material to read to pass your course but overall everything you learn will come back once your Platoon leader so read “The first 100 days of platoon leadership”. “The 1 min manger meets the monkey” and “extreme ownership”. Those are a few good reads my mentors gave to me.

Yep
Thank you sir for making this video. Could you advise me on the expenses of the first 3 weeks that we should save for? Thanks so much!!
I ask same question?
@@shasha9264 hey Sir or Ma'am, I'm in BOLC right now. Do you have a question?
How many weeks BOLC and how much are the estimated expenses?

Patch? Do you have a unit assigned before bolc?
Yes
I heard that LTs can live off post at Logistics BOLC. Is that true?

@@Jabarikjay thanks man! I'm at OCS right now. How do you like TC? I'm trying to decide which logistical branch I want to join.
Did you get Per diem at BOLC?
Yeap
JabarikJay how much was it?

When I went through BOLC it felt like a full semester class load in college. If he can juggle real college in addition to BOLC he’ll be ok
What reading should I do before attending bolc?

Did your college degree help with this bolc ? How difficult is this bolc ?
Not at all, I struggled with BOLC where my peers thought it was easy.
Yo... hit me up bro. I spoke to Maj Filmore about joining ROTC at Embry Riddle as you did.
Jatwon Burkes DM me on IG

Alittle late but if you still have your questions I’m willing to answer
