    I tried this on a random date for NWL23, and you are over 400 seconds faster than me. I might be able to cut that to 200 on a good day where everything clicks. I hope people realize how impressive your skills are, considering they aren't necessary to become a champion (apparently) :P

    This is Mack's flex. He's normally so humble in every video, I think we can allow him to show off his word knowledge skills (and typing speed) 🙂

    I noticed you often had a bigger pause when going from the bottom word of a column to the top one of the next, it might be a small optimization to alternate between going top to bottom and bottom to top so the next word is always in your field of vision. Phenomenal result!

      @mackmeller  19 часов назад +1

      Yeah that's a great idea, I think Will Anderson does that!

  • @Edsploration.

    Unreal speed. It's actually ridiculous how much faster this is than my speed at word games.
    I'd love to see Mack try speedrunning with the famous LiveSplit green timer in some existing games+categories with leaderboards. Not sure which games transfer Scrabble skills rather than just typing speed though. Maybe Bookworm Adventure.

    • @JDHinten
      @JDHinten 3 дня назад +1

      Seconding Bookworm Adventure. Might be a little challenging to get set up since it isn't being sold any more, but a very interesting twist on speed anagramming.

      I'll take a look at Bookworm Adventure if I can, never heard of it but sounds fun!

    I know you tend to keep things family-friendly on this channel but... Holy shit?! That was honestly mindblowing. In the time it took me to anagram ONE seven, you had already completed a whole column 😭

      @@cooperkomatsu329 I'm definitely not as instant with those, but I do clear them fairly often! 3-blank 9s are really where the fun is at though

  • @Fexghadi

    This is absolutely astonishing, honestly. Not just the typing part, mind, but also the raw knowledge of the alphagrams and the solving speed.
    That being said, for us common peasants, we'll have to be pausing the video a lot if we want to play along; and thankfully the music was there to distract us from the armageddon you wreaked upon your keyboard 😛but yeah, it's less enjoyable for me than your regular content, which feels more interactive through your explanations and how you discuss your choices and options.
    That being said, if everyone else thoroughly enjoys this, you won't hear me get mad. I'll simply let the video play in the background so you still get my view 🙂

    I highly recommend this as a way to improve. About 2/3 of the days I do the challenges Mack did, then the word finder section, blank bingos, and bingo marathons. For me, the one that benefits me the most is bingo marathons. And I'm nowhere near what Mack is - my results never make the first page - but I've improved noticeably since I started. There's a way to download your history - but I've been keeping a monthly Excel sheet. At the pace I'm improving, I'll catch Mack when I'm 254 years old...

      @mackmeller  19 часов назад

      Yes, and I'd also highlight the word builders too (especially the 4-7 as it reflects an actual rack) for those looking to improve word finding in the specific context of a Scrabble game

    You should look into Speedle (Wordle) leaderboards. With enough practice, you could wipe most categories pretty easily. Unbelievable skill on display here.

    Nice work! I can’t tell from the sound whether you hit Enter after each word, but I’ve found I can go even faster (and kill my pinky a bit less) by hitting Space instead.

    • @mackmeller
      @mackmeller  19 часов назад +1

      Thanks! And yeah I do hit Enter, using my typing technique (which is almost exclusively left index finger, left middle finger, and right index finger for letters and right pinkie for enter... weird I know but it works for me) I find trying to hit the space with my thumb or one of my main typing fingers is a bit too awkward

    Am I correct in assuming you're looking at groups of 4-5 words at a time and just seeing a group of answers instantly and the thing that takes you most of the time is the typing rather than unscrambling?

    • @mackmeller
      @mackmeller  19 часов назад +1

      More or less! I'd say 4-5 at a time is a bit generous though, more like 2-3 especially for the longer words

    Can you do more video's talking/demonstrating how you should practice scrabble/your word knowledge, especially geared towards helping people who want to get into scrabble. I have been casually playing for the past year, but would like to know how the top players practice/what tools or websites are best. I know the basics programs/apps but would like to get a breakdown of everything that I should be using.

      Mack went to primary school there, and since there's so much downtime, especially in the winter, it's where he learned all the words.
