As a Korean, the moment Son scored, I couldn't help but cry. I admit that Germany was with bad bad luck. But the Korean players definitely showed their commitment. They never feared to dive into the ball even after the ball hitting all their bodies so many times. I'm so proud of them.

no. There was only one case left. Assuming that Mexico would catch Sweden, Korea would advance to the round of 16 if Korea beat Germany 2-0 or more. Of course, both Korean players and Koreans expected Mexico to beat Sweden and imagined a miraculous picture of Korea winning 2-0, but they actually won 2-0. That's why the Korean players played hard, and that's why the players are so enthusiastic. It was because the players did not know the results of Mexico and Sweden.

I remember this game, the Korean players were happy because they won this match, but unfortunately they needed Mexico to win against Sweden, but Mexico lost against Sweden, being eliminated from the Cup, Korea and Germany. It was a happy and a sad moment for Korea. That's why you can see to Heung-min Son looking sad in the thumbnail, despite their big victory against Germany.

@@SimpleInThinking It's not just about Özil. You can easily read on the Internet that this problem is not an isolated case. When Lukaku scored goals and helped the team to victory, you'd hear from the Belgian striker. If it was a defeat, they talked about the Belgian striker with Congolese roots. The same used to apply to Benzema, who has Algerian roots. If he brought victory to France, then he was French. If France lost, you read about the Arab striker in the newspapers. Özil didn't feel well because the German Association didn't make him feel like a German. He also announced via Twitter that his colleagues Podolski and Klose (both German-Polish) did not have this problem, but he, as a German-Turkish man, did. He asked if it was religion. At the time there was also discussion about the photo of Özil and Erdogan (which would not have been worth discussing) because he wanted to support him in the election campaign. A country like Germany, which speaks for tolerance, freedom of expression and freedom of religion, did not act at all according to its ideals in this case. The media ridiculed Özil. I can still remember that Jürgen Klopp defended Özil in that story. He said that Özil has Turkish roots. And the people who don't have tolerance should shut up. Jürgen Klopp said that. Well, I think it's outrageous that people today still think that Özil is wrong here, even though the head of the association was clearly the problem.

Korea wasn't out at that time though...if Mexico had beaten Sweden, Korea would have gone to the next round.

When I look at the highlights , I noticed that Mesut Ozil was involved in about half of those attacks, setting up players with easy opportunities to score. It was a collective bad performance by the German team and yet Ozil was the only player to feel the brunt of the media. Very, very unfair !!!

"I'm a German when we win, but i'm an immigrant when we lose", sad quotes been spoken by him tho...
Özil defitnitely wasn't the only player that was blamed.
@@SimpleInThinking Are you serious right now?
