honestly the most annoying thing that happens at night is when somebody spawns near your base, and they can't see the very simple crouch way to get in and they remove one of your wall and the employee just comes in.

imo I think the shelf base is my favorite, you have access to a lot of pallets, its off the ground (depending on what layer you build on), protects you from larger staff, can have multiple escape and entrance points, and is a good community base if everyone there works together. It takes a lot of resources but once established It can feel like a good home within the hostile IKEA.

I personally like using bunk bed spawn areas for bases due to the fact that there’s already 2 walls already there for you
and you can then use a bunk bed along with something small to make a door (alternatively, use a bunk bed as a wall and block the gap next to the ladder with something small)

Tips and random facts for new players: Build a base in shelves since there are lots of pallets and ladders there! You can also try to get a badge by trying to pick up the heavy wooden box which is located in the shelves, and of course it takes long since it's already stated in it's name. "Heavy". You have to be determined if you really want to get the badge.
Try to find a shelf near food areas so you don't have to run too far away from your base when you forget to waypoint it.
Remember to waypoint your bases and food areas so you don't have to find random food places far away and accidently lose your base.
Now, food gives you a certain amount of energy depending on what food it is, the food that gives the most energy is the chocolate which is located in a floating house.
The floating house has a very rare chance of spawning so you may have to server hop for it.
If you put the chocolate in your inventory, you will get a badge called " The sacred chocolate".
Foods that also give a great amount of energy are Striped Donuts, Ice cream, burgers and meatballs. I guess also Apples.
Food respawns every Monday and Friday so that's why you should build a base near some food areas!
There are lots of different rooms called "plots".
These plots have different items in them which you can get to make your base or make your base there.
The rarest items are the Gamecube, which spawns in the Living Room plot.
The chocolate is also one of the rarest items in 3008.
The chocolate is actually written in Swedish and translates to: The Good Chocolate, which it's original says "DEN GODA CHOKLAD".
The chocolate is actually also based off a real item in the real IKEA store, but with a different name.
If an employee(the humanoid entities with different sizes, colors and types.) is chasing you at night, push them.
Push an employee by facing them and clicking on them when the small red cross appears in the middle of your screen.
They only become hostile at night, the only occasion where they are hostile in the day is the "Foggy day" phase.
A foggy day usually occurs every 16 days, and has a low chance of happening on other days.
Foggy day makes employees stronger and when you get hit by one on Foggy Day, you will lose a significant amount of health(40 health will be gone).
You won't be able to see from far distances on Foggy Days which is dangerous since you might not see employees coming at you.
Blood Night occurs every 10 days, and has a very low chance of spawning on other days.
A nighttime phase lasts 5 minutes or 300 seconds.
If the server is laggy the times of the phases might change.
A daytime phase on the other hand lasts 6 minutes or 360! Even if night seems to be longer, it isn't.
Again the time of the phase may change if due to the lag of the server.
Tell me if I missed something.

I usually create something more than a door. I create these small, _small_ gaps (referred as Keyholes imo) in at least one wall that players can turn and walk through, while Employees can't. These keyholes can also have a ceiling so that a crouching player can access but most taller employees never can. Keyholes also shouldn't have a wall to the left or right that is sticking out from the outside, as employees can run at the nearest player in your base and end up slipping through the keyhole.
Basically, if you're not able to create some air lock for the entrance of your base (intuitive but not exactly safe still), Keyholes will usually be your easy entrance both in and out without consequence.

Here are some tips for building from *my* own experience!
    1. To save time, plan out your base building. For day, build this side of your wall so you can rush back to your temporary base before it’s night.
    2. If you’re building a big base, it’ll really help to have a temporary base! So while you’re building, if it suddenly turns night and your base isn’t finished, you can stay there for the night.
    3. ROOFS! It may not seem like employees can get onto your roof, but they can manage. I usually build my base out of pallets and they can climb the patterns on the pallet. And if you aren’t using something with a solid pattern, (fridge, pallet, lamp, etc. etc. etc.) they can climb onto the excess furniture around and into the base!

  • @YIPPIESTYADOOBIE

i believe that instead of putting doors, you can use like a table or something flat and place it low enough that you can crawl under it but not walk in it. there are some pros and cons to this tho
doors are safer from all employees while crouch entrances might invite shorter ikea employees
doors take a longer time to open/close but you can atleast sprint through it
while crouch entrances make u slower cuz u have to crouch but its a easier way if ur getting chased
in addition with saving time for a base, if it just turned into night time have a table, bathtub, or shelf around and take one of those items and place it on a wall so that you can crouch under it but you can’t walk into it. its basically a crouch entrance but it leads to nothing but a wall. this way, most employees won’t be able to get u but make sure to add on to ur emergency area if u see some short employees around

    • @hambugre5396
      @hambugre5396 2 года назад +3

To fix the problem with crouch doors, you can get a bathtub and place it sidways to a wall. To enter, you just crouch into the bathtub, then circle around the wall you place it in. This is basically implementing a slide door with a crouch door for very easy and effective protection. The crouch door will stop tall employees, while the bathtub with a wall halfway through the middle will take care off the short ones.

    • @DotffJ
      @DotffJ 2 года назад +3

The con of smaller employees is why I always make my ground bases force you to crouch AND go sideways. The employees thin enough to possibly go through are never small, so they won’t get in whilst smaller employees are usually a little wider, which would be stopped by the extra thin gap.

i definitely agree, stealing bases, griefing bases, or negatively impacting any base that is not yours is terrible! heres a quick story of mine.
my friends and i love making house-like bases in this game. we can spend up to 1-6 hours just making our base. there was this one time we made an absolute mansion! it was two stories and it had 5 bedrooms. (there were five of us) we were still in our construction phase of our base. it was nighttime when somebody broke in to our base and were pleading to stay for the night. we said no as nicely as we could, because we feared those with ill intent. this then ended up being a horrible decision, because we were right about them. they tried to guilt trip us but failed. see, we collected penguins because they were special to us. we made our own little made up thing where this penguin was our lord. (backstory warning, scroll towards next paragraph to skip) it was bloodnight when a friend brought a penguin back. we were awed by it and asked for safety and protection from it---and our wish was granted.
then this player decided to throw a fit and stole one of our many penguins that were chilling on the couch. they started running away and i took after them. i started chasing them until they ran out of stamina and would inevitably place it down. this eventually happened and surrendered the penguin after saying "deal with it, you already have enough." i took the penguin back and started running towards our base to return it. yes, we could have found a new penguin, but no penguin could ever be replaceable. each one was significant to us. we were building happily until we find out that the player had set a waypoint at our base. they returned during nighttime and tore down our walls, then left the game. we eventually repaired the base, but it was saddening to experience that interaction with that menace.

I was only able to find 5 penguins before and someone came and stole two of them,I remember me and my best friend panicking at that time and trying to get it back, they eventually gave one back, but they took the other one and ran away,at that time,it was almost night time,so I needed to quickly go back to my base and I lost them

Usually when I have nowhere to go, I find a bunk bed and I use a table, pallet, or dresser to block the opening. The quickest block would be the dresser because it is spawned closest to the bunk bed. Most likely, this works because the table (if big enough), covers the whole opening as well as the pallet..but the dresser covers most but leaves some open space. Also make sure the bunk bed is secured on the wall or employees could squeeze in. I recommend this tip for tall employees.

i have another tip: you wanna make sure is that if you don’t wanna move your pallet/wall you can make a crouch space or thinned space that you and other players can only go in but the only downside for this is that somebody sees your base and doesn’t see the crouch/thinned space and removes a pallet/wall and the employee comes in

When I make a base I often like to pillar up to a sign with ladders, then bridge out to a wall or pillar. It makes it harder for grieves to grief it because I can remove the entrance ladders, and then they would have to scale the wall/pillar which I can defend against. It seems to work because I made 2 griefers rq because they couldn’t take down my base. So ig what I would say is building a little pitstop before actual base is useful to slow griefers down

Bruh, I have a hell of a story to tell regarding base-stealing.
After I had gotten done with my shelf base, There was a bacon hair man who had shown up at my base. Of course, I let him in, assuming he wasn't going to grief, he stayed with me for a few days, but then after that, he started to take parts of my building away without me knowing. During nighttime, I had caught him taking parts of my base and immediately decided to pick up the floor that was underneath the bacon hair man and I dropped him to die with the employees that were gathering around my house.
A few in-game days after that, a group of griefers had shown up to my house to take the house apart. It was nighttime at the time that happened and as they were moving parts of my house back to their base, I followed them back home and I decided to grief THEIR base instead. To add salt on the wound, I decided to grief their house so that employees could get easy access. I decided to pull a kamikaze moment and I whistled the employees toward their house, the employees had managed to kill all the griefers alongside me, but I had set a death waypoint to their house before I died. Once day broke, I went back to the house and later found out that the house was later abandoned and still had employees inside it.
Soooo yeah, don't steal bases, or parts of them. You'll come across crazy vengeance-seeking people like me who will do whatever it takes to kill you.

bro I swear I spawned in and found some medkits, and then I found a shelf base. there were 2 people in the base, and I gave them some of my medkits. Then, they had the audacity to say, "Uhhhh, go away!"
    So I did.
I then saw them in the chat, panicking.

Even if im late, heres another tip!
Before "Base Stealing", he shows a trick with bookshelves am I right? Well, lets say you can't find any bookshelves and it becomes night. Try to find a bunk bed, get in the lower bed and close the hole with a dresser or any items that can cover the hole (where you came in from)
I use that trick alot everytime I join a server because it can turn into night any second ( or at night ).
I found this trick out when I first played 3008, its really helpful if your in some emergencies.
Also, do set a waypoint in your base..

One time i built my base next to a base with two friends inside. I was keeping my space trying not to annoy them. Eventually, after two nights, they came up to my base and took my walls and everything to their base. This is why I never build next to people.
Another time, I built a small base with my friend. We turned our base into a small blanket fort(out of beds). This group of 16 people came up to our base and just moved in with no warning. With so many people we had to expand our base. After 10-20 nights/days in game the base was getting broken into by lots of employees. This is why I like to keep people to a maximum of 6 in my base(but i prefer 2-4)

  • @Poulover26

I built a base, a secure and good one, then somehow withing 5 minutes of me finishing it, 4-6 people all came and just moved in. Somehow or another a bunch of people who didn't know each other just happend to be near my base at night, and all decided to move in. Eventually all except 1 left, and it was finally peaceful again. Someone asked me a question in chat so I went to look it up on my phone, and withing the 30 seconds of me turning away from my computer, the last person living there opened all of the walls, left, and let the employees kill me. I had left a waypoint but the bast was basically destroyed.

ok so i think the best door you can have is where you make a small gap that you can only go through by going sideways. you can also make it short so you have to crouch and go sideways. i suggest blocking it on blood nights tho.

Yeah I'm very lucky every time i join a Server in the game everybody's just kind and everytime they go to my base they're friendly and I even gave them food sometimes newbies stays on my base until we became friends and also I create location based on where the foods spawns like kitchen, etc. and also bc the location i built was also far from players some also make their bases on stacked things yeah base stealing
The Funny thing abt Base Stealing was that some players leave it to those newbies bc they're gonna go afk and also everytime I join a server and built a base there full of foods and players start to enter my base (sometimes bc they have no base or they got chased by scp's) they dont touch the food and sometimes they wait for me to respond if it is ok to eat food especially if they're so hungry low energy or health

some of my tips for surviving and building: number one if you spawn next to an employee at night you want to climb up somewhere and punch the employee if there's multiple you want to run away as far as you can and grab some tubs at least two tubs put one next to a wall climb crouch in there and put the other one in front of you and if you have a gap that is teeny tiny don't worry about it the employees cannot get to you but if it's like a huge gap they will get you number two if you build a big base it would take longer to fill up and make cuz let's say that you only need one type of material and those are small shelves it will take a long time because if you're in the area where there's no shelves you will have to go really far and let's say that you forget to put away point this is why wait points are very important in the game because I've seen many people die and then forget where their bases and then I always see someone helping them fine with their bases because that usual person is that person's neighbor but then that's when an employee comes and gets them both so I do highly recommend I would just have four people with you in a group because let's say that for friends playing together and one gets one is dying you want to give that friend some food and then punch the employee back to try to defend so let's say two friends punch and defend and another give some food and another gets at least some stuff to cover up morning you guys want to find some food
Chapter 2: food resources what to eat and what not to eat.
So let's say that you're hungry a few minutes in the game and it's still morning time so that's a good thing and you find soda pop everywhere but every time someone walk to near it and they look like they're hungry they just don't get it and they really die the reason for this is because soda pop actually lowers your health bar and the reason for this is because of the chemicals so that's why I hardly do not recommend drinking soda pop but if it's for your energy then I do highly recommend but if you have no energy and you're halfway on the health you should not drink soda pop just try to look for something else but if it's the only thing that's there and nobody else is using it try to find an abandoned base that has a lot of food in it eat some of that but if it has some sort of Pop don't eat it
Chapter 3: sky base sky base sky base!
I just want to say if you see a pillar you should grab some resources that are close right next to the pillow the reason why is because sky bases are the absolute best way to not get caught but sometimes the employees see you so if you're starting from the ground and the staircase all the way up to a building you don't want to do that I do highly recommend building a staircase and then building a against a wall and it should be at least three posters tall and let's say that a person really needs help and you know them so let's say that you still have the staircase but it's a secret way to get up you tell them to remove some of the ladders so that the employees can't get up to them but the worst employees are the tall ones so you want to make a secret way on how to get up and avoid the tall employees because some employees know how to climb up and down the ladder.
    Chapter 4: trap trap trap!
Okay so this one maybe confusing but it'll be easier if you think hard enough so if you spawn in the area and it's night time you want to do what I said on the last few chapters grab at least two tubs or something that is empty inside and you can use a tub or an empty shelf put those two together against the wall and you'll be safe from the employees until morning so now it is morning time a few minutes later and you think of trapping the employees but you don't know how because some employees are smart enough so it be so it'll be harder to trap them when they have some smart IQ so for this if you want to trap some of the employees that attack you here are all the resources you will need in my opinion that helped me: 1 glass tables
The reason why I think that using glass tables in my opinion is so you can see the employees so if you ever leave the game and someone comes near your base and they see a hundred employees trapped in one base they'll think that oh that base is probably dangerous because then it'll probably be is it when they say whose base is this trapped with 100 employees in it and if nobody says anything they'll probably move in and try that same trick then this will be going on for games and games so your idea is helping other people as well who are new to the game! :)
    2 a lot of beds
No these beds are not for sleeping for huge crowd of employees actually you need to form a upside down t so like it forms a so like you went out on left up and besides you so behind you there is an entrance for the employees to come and you punch them down that and then they hit the t and the upside down t bounces them down on the ground so when it's morning time you can see the employees in how many you've trapped they will try to walk around and get out but if there is a small Gap that some of the short employees can't get through you want to grab something that is short as them and get two of them is stack them up together but if there is a huge gap that you cannot find anything to cover up with the employees will get out climb back up and kill you!
    Chapter 5: waypoint, food etc!
COMING SOON IF THIS GETS 20 LIKES AT LEAST:)

If you have a shelf, base, you can pretty much get supplies so at night you can keep putting planks in a pile or getting food during day when you do this, especially putting planks in a pile, it means at night you can build, which means it can make night useful and day more useful

In my personal experience (note this is about a month of playing), I like to grab a bunk bed and go to one of those green and purple rooms, grab a load of pallets and/or queen beds and block of one side (I usually take the purple side). Then once the overall house is done, I make a waypoint and run like mad crazy to find food courts, playgrounds, and places with pallets, making waypoints and collecting stuff along the way. Over time, I slowly add rooms and furniture like food storage, a tv room, a bed room, and a enclosed hideout. Its not the greatest base and sometimes I build a little small, but its always cosy and I like it :)

Hints for making bases in the game if you spawn near a wall start building cause it will be easier to start cause if collect food it's gonna be night so the bad idea to do making a small base cause you can't get out and what I recommend a big base the size of the wall to help people have many food to eat cause it's alot to take care if you make a high one make sure it's on a metal place cause it's safer to stay that's what I reccomend

And he was just like opens wall base yay but he made the employees come in and then we all died
-Lesson if ur being chased never open someone base walls it’s really annoying ,btw don’t open the walls just accept ur fate if u open the walls tho we all get killed if u just keep running only u will get killed and they survive

I am not sure if someone already commented this, but I just want to mention that if you want to make "doors", just use the TV stand. If you go through the TV stand from the side, you can actually squeeze in and it is the perfect space for hiding from employees, and I'm pretty sure there are no bone thin employees. Even if there are, it is rare to find one so just use a TV stand for a "door" so you can get in but employees can't.

I always build a sky base with my team of 4 (my bsf and our sisters). I honestly think a sky base is helpful. But to make sure to make it in the middle, with no small open spot whatsoever, except for the entrance, which is guarded by parkour and a small trap, basically a those pick a side thing where you have to slide under a small spot of the two options to get in, pick the wrong one and you show up in front of an employee. That’s the only reason I would recommend having an employee as a pet. This method is helpful for protection at all times from employees and during night from grievers and raiders. Also, building this kind of base could take time so if only recommend it if you have the time, which is the case for me and my friends since we’re on summer break. (I’m a new player btw so u dont have to do this but u could test it or sm)

Usually when I make bases I take A LOT of time, usually taking me a good five in-game days or so. To avoid not having a base at night, I make a mini-base to hide in. This mini-base is usually a bunch of beds put together in a simple, safe way.

Ngl I wish the devs of this game would make a features that lessen the grifing of this game. They should add stuff like permissions. Once you pick up a piece of furniture to add to your base, only you get to remove it, or give someone permission to pick up a piece of your furniture. The permissions will go away once you leave the game.

When you make a base in 3008 and then a noob passes by in the middle of the day and walks in like its theirs not even using the door and steals all your food and then you tell them to leave but they type back slowly so you wait there and then it turns night and they say, "NO" so they sit there and you tell them to leave in the morning, *they ignore you* and start messing up your walls. IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT!!! so all night you fix wall after wall until morning where they just GREIF your base and you sit there DUMB FOUNDED at what happened then you realize you have become super duper hungry you open your inventory and remember that the noob had taken your food ALL AWAY so you end up starving before you get more food and die.

my tips on building an employee free base:
find shelves (not the small tiny ones), spend your day putting pallets up a layer (where there would be a ladder to climb up to) getting food and getting light sources.
When it turns to night, spend your time placing the pallets across the two shelves so you can reach the other side.
Now just do that for the whole layer and no employees can get in (i suggest curving the pallets up and the ends just in case)
IMPORTANT! Getting lights are essential to building a base.
i probably didnt write that well but oh well lol

honestly, the mistakes players always make is making their house/base larger than it needs to be, only build a home small enough for you and your food, and then do expansions when you need it. This is because you can easily avoid griefers and employees walking into your larger bases in the daytime

If you're gonna build a big or time consuming base build a small base next to your soon to be big base and u can continue building ur big base and be safe from employees
An example is: using a tub or wardrobe and cover yourself with it

If your tired of noobs tearing your walls to get away from employees on your base, try to make other rooms if your base is quite big and make them have different kinds of door ways (not open ones of course), so if a noob tears a wall down and a employee comes in you still have other safe spaces in your base (unless the noob tears them down too like a child)
    Other ways:
Make your base on a pillar high up and make a confusing way up.
Use natural game walls (the ones you can't tear) ik that most of the plots have no 4-sided or 3-sided walls, but at least u can expect that a noob won't tear the part of your base that has them.

strange how building a roof is not part of the list, unless virtually everyone here builds tiny bases. cause if not, just make an overhang, staff can't jump everything, and they only jump when they think they need to, so just add an overhang thats at least partially taller than Hubert, and the staff are screwed. yea if your the type to just build in the middle of nowhere and keep a small encampment roofs CAN still work, same with the quick and simple enclosement method at the end of tip 3.

YES. Doors are so important, and make sure that Ben (leg guy) can't get in. A good way to do this is put a bunk bed as your door and place an ISKARNA (head lamp) or the pencil lamp on the bottom of the top bunk. That way, you have to crouch to enter and pan your camera to the side to move inside.
