Look, you gotta give it more credit. It’s trying to be it’s new iteration adapting some clear elements of detail and design by its old counterpart. It’s trying to be accurate but also be different. it has its own merits, the live action is clearly going for a complicated and more mechanical look but rounder, whereas the old counterpart is leaning on the simplistic side.
That's a great graphics. However, the transformation movement needs to be a bit stiff and snappy. The volt in sequence seems floating. And, it would be nice to add a flash effects every time when combining to make it look cool.
How much is the budget for this masterpiece? Why can't ABS CBN, a giant company afford a quality CGI graphics like this one, which is made by an independent editor?

ボルテスＶじゃあないけど、ザンボット３やダイターン３とかだと大河原邦男さんが木彫りで相当数のモデルアップ作って研究してた。ガンダムのザクを木彫りで製作した時に「変形も合体もしない！なんて楽なんだ！」って語っているから合体ロボに関しては相当苦労している模様。

頭の中で変形合体の妄想100％か、自分で簡易的に模型作ってみるかしかないからね。当時は。
ほんと、凄いよ。
前作であるコンバトラーＶが、アニメでの見た目重視のデザインであったため、玩具の再現性が低くなり、その反省からボルテスは玩具メーカーの意向に沿ってデザインされた、と記憶しています。
合体に矛盾が無いのはそのためかと。
当時の超合金も、ほぼこのまま合体します。
