- Cambridge Department of public works truck 22 Freightliner McNeilus rear loader . I found this truck collecting residential trash around the central square area of Cambridge. this is one of many new freightliner McNeilus rear loaders that Cambridge has bought to replace the older UHE rear loaders as UHE is no longer making trucks . i'm also not sure what the cart tippers are for ,the city is manual for trash but contracts out to Russell to collect semi auto recycle . I would've filmed more by my battery died . Thanks to all who subscribe
nice truck. I noticed that Cambridge supplies recycling carts but not carts for trash. Cambridge gets gov cash for participating in a recycling program. this includes cash for recycling carts. but no extra funds for regular trash pickup. it's clear from this vid they need to invest in heavy duty trash carts that match up to the tippers. this keeps workers from lifting heavy carts that aren't designed to be lifted by hand.

I think 14:25 truly is what the tippers are for. didn't need to blow taxpayer money on two of them, but with the number of residents that have those dumbass wheeled bins, it's a good idea. sure seemed like the hopper filled up quickly, though. thanks for another great vid
Yeah, I'm surprised as well that they didn't use the tippers more. Thou to their credit, one of the problems with tippers is that they only dump into 1 part of the hopper (usually too close to the sill IMHO), which of course fills up after the first dump. You end up either having to push the trash around with your hands (yuck), or run the blade more often to keep that 1 part of the hopper the tipper dumps into clear.
With the way they are throwing the carts by hand, yeah its more work, but they better utilize all the available space in the hopper before they need to run the blade. Thou they probably just have some stupid company policy of not using the tippers on customer's cans for fear of damaging them. Cus I'll just say right now, I wouldn't be breaking my back like that, you have tippers for a reason, use them.

Looks like Cambridge tweaked their specs a little. The under ride guard is a nice touch, the yellow color contrasts nicely with the orange on the rest of the truck. Different cart tippers too, I wonder what their end game is with ordering those? To be perfectly honest I hadn't at all noticed the dual packer controls last time around, another smart choice on the part of the city. Props to them for getting such cool trucks, and to you for the video. And thanks for the shout out. :)

Why don t they use the tilting device
It's generally faster not to, but these guys don't seem to be in much of a rush anyway. I personally always use the tipper, because it's a hell of a lot cheaper to replace the tipper than my shoulder.

Are these two guys are not that stupid they got two tippers but choose to just hand dump those Toters driver don’t pay attention to the guys in back I threw trash for 30 years I’ve never seen such unprofessional work I’ve ever seen. Truck has all the updates equipment and these guys don’t use it properly. Let me dig the trash out the can city spent so much money on that truck to make it easier on the guys but no . Someone needs to show how to operate the trucks equipment so it’s done efficiently.

The Rubbermaid bins are heavy and full of trash along with bulk waste. I think they are mid to almost full and are pretty tired so don’t make these remarks
