What's really sad is that how she couldn't remember who she was while being a yokai, she was lost until Aira called her mom. It helped her remember her past memory, to protect her daughter at all cost, even her life, mother's love to her children is everything. There was a scene that anime didn't adapt, she reunited with her daughter and hold hands in afterlife.
@@temshopping Truth is, no one knows exactly what happened to her daughter after been taken, manga author left it as a mystery. We only can know the mother finally found her peace from Aira's hug. And her final panel in the manga showed she's holding her daughter's hand in afterlife.

@federicam4793 loan sharks. Or debt collectors from the Mafia. Which kinda would explain why absolutely no one called the cops about a child being kidnapped
The opening of the door is so symbolic. Her day was rough and she felt ashamed, but despite the darkness and the gloom, she has one light - her daughter. And that she is suffering is worth it for her, she can close all the sadness on the other side of the light. Even on the present, it shows that she can face darkness for her light.

If you want some icing on top of the extremely tragic cake, last episode, the flat hat she had on her head when she first showed symbolized the impact point of…y’know…
I think it's implied from the money at the start of the flashback that instead of giving the money to the Yakuza for her prostitution she spent some of it on her daughter instead. So when they came to collect the money they beat her up and took her daughter as collateral (possibly for human trafficking)
God, my heart breaks for poor Acro Silky and Aira. It's amazing how a creator can make you love a character after introducing them in a bad way. DanDaDan anime of the year!
Momo and Aira both received all those memories. This is what makes Aira completely change as a person. She got a whole new outlook on reality after that. She is still a total air head, just now she actually cares about others way more instead of being so conceited.
A Clarification over Turbo Granny, she care mainly for girls brutalise or SA by men, she is a Yokai at heart so she have a lot of general resentment, to her if someone die buy anyother mean, especially by another yokai, she doent care, at least not yet
I already knew this was coming from the manga, but I've been crying all damn morning after watching the ep AND everyone's reactions. lol. Dandadan better be gd anime of the year.
Acrobatic Silky had every right to become a villain, like say the Upper 6 siblings. But she still devoted her yokai life into finding her "daughter" instead of vengeance.
I wouldn't call it a "right." Being hurt doesn't mean you should hurt others, though it certainly can make it more understandable. But moreover, yokai like Silky are formed from regrets, and their tragedies often become twisted and corrupted when they become yokai. Silky was quite "young" and thankfully found peace before she could get any more twisted than she already was.
I must like to suffer lol because Ive just been rewatching this episode over and over and crying each time. I think one of the things that hit me the most was the dance scene because dancing was what connected her to her daughter and in bringing a close to that connection she danced in her final moments and that final leap was it but she still had so many regrets. I knew this episode was going to be emotional but I wasnt ready. Fun fact: The music composer for Dangers in my heart is working on the music for this and just round of applause to him because the music really made everything hit home.
Akusara or Acrobatic Sara Sara is the japanese urban legend that inspired Acrobatic Silky in DandaDan, she's a 2 meters tall lady, with no eyes, a slit mouth and her arms are filled with cuts, she wears a red dress and a hat that goes with it, in the legend she dances from building to building, sometimes falling front of cars and vanishing before hitting the ground to cause accidents, she apparently also shows in front of people, making a humanly impossible dance as a challenge, after which she simply vanishes and curses them, her curse is a hard one among yokai legends, she follows her victims and they often simply die or vanish, she targets mainly men, very interesting interpretation she was given in Dandadan beautifully put together.
what i love the most about this episode is how much it uses the first person camera perspective to really put us into the shoes of Acrobatic Silky's backstory. you get to see all the love & pain she experienced firsthand. her focus always on her kid first & foremost 😭

I read the manga through multiple times to where it's at. I knew what was coming, and yet after the episode I still just ended up needing to lie face down on my bed for awhile.
I think the reason why acro silky is wearing the same dress as her kid is because it made such a strong imprint in her being? she may have forgotten everything in her years as a wandering spirit, but when she remembered a fragment of who she was, she took that form. she associated that dress with the act of bringing happiness to her kid though she may not actually fully remember why
